Popular Post An Away Move Posted 19 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 19 August 2025 I don’t get the Leicester dislike for Doyle. He was an important part of Maresca’s tactical play. It was literally his job to carry the ball forwards and link midfield or attack from defence. That meant he was sometimes out of position when the transition broke down. That doesn’t make him slow or crap. I thought he did a great job for us before he got injured. Wrexham have got a good player. I think he’d have strengthened us too. 10 1

Like running through treacle.

I know he was injured but he played fewer than half of games that season and we were fine without him. We lack pace in our back line, Doyle won’t improve that weakness. 1

I agree, at this level hes an excellent player, certainly better than any of our left sided defenders.

Great on the ball but offers nothing physically and his positioning was a constant let down.

He was a good player, definitely not crap. But my god was he slow, I don't know how anyone who watched a lot of him can think otherwise - Watching him in a full sprint was painful.
Gamble92 Posted 19 August 2025 Posted 19 August 2025 I might of got my sources wrong but I'm not having people who don't change their pants for 2 weeks taking the moral high ground 2
ithuriel Posted 21 August 2025 Posted 21 August 2025 When I first saw him here I thought, maybe he was just a bit rusty, then after a few games I realised, nope, just not that good.

Probably too slow for an attacking fullback Haha it's the opposite for me, I thought he looked gash there, it exposed his massive lack of pace. Can tell there's a defender in there, but sticking him out wide where he's going to face quick attackers 1 on 1 made him look worse than he was. 4
coolhandfox Posted 21 August 2025 Posted 21 August 2025 (edited) Great on the ball, lovely left foot. Needs to play at CB. 8m is a lot of money Edited 21 August 2025 by coolhandfox 1

But the 2nd goal we conceded on Saturday provided enough proof - as if we needed it - that another slow CB is not what we need. 3

fox_favourite Posted 22 August 2025 Posted 22 August 2025 (edited) My god, they are over hyping it. He was decent for us but not that good and didn't he have a mixed loan spell at Norwich? It's like they have signed prime Wes Morgan or prime Tunchev. Also according to them, Derby had a great window as well Edited 22 August 2025 by fox_favourite
Number 6 Posted 22 August 2025 Posted 22 August 2025 To be fair that's a good signing for them imo. There's obviously some potential there and at the moment they're just looking to establish themselves as a Championship side. This one at least has a potential sell on at some point whereas the likes of Coady won't.
