A good player for us for a long time. He had his limitations that prevented him becoming great, but that’s probably why we retained him for so long.

 

I have mixed feelings. His impact hasn’t been as great recently and he always has a spell out with niggling injuries, but I don’t have any faith in us being able to recruit anyone as good. Especially from the position of a club in the Championship

Good move for all parties, nowhere near the level of player he was at his peak, this gives us a decent fee for one of our highest earners, in terms of PSR compliance this is a really significant move.
