Haven't seen any of west ham's games and I don't intend to, but if Mads is struggling I would take no pleasure in it. 

 

Mads was great for us and he was lauded on these pages as the next big thing.   It seems that now he has left, we've decided he's crap.

Same story almost every time a player leaves us in recent times. Some weird mental gymnastics.

The James Justin thread was a bit crazy to read. People pretending he was always rubbish in there.

 

Wouldn't surprise me if he gets back to his best for Leeds. Some players need a change of scenery.

It's bizarre. Like when kids have an argument and one will say "well I never liked you anyway!". It's like unless a player (who is here for work) says they never want to leave - when they leave, we all collectively try to convince ourselves that they were terrible and we've fleeced whoever is buying.

 

I don't know why people can't have nuance. Justin was great for us for a period, didn't cost much, never downed tools but had real injury issues that affected him here. We got a good fee, so best of luck to him... :dunno:

I don't think he'll ever get back to his best because his best was so heavily defined by his athleticism. Rodgers disgraceful injury management ruined his career in terms of what he could have been (was in the England setup discussions before the injury)

Maybe not back to his very best for the reasons you've mentioned but a large part of what made him good was his confidence in going forwards. Feels like he's spent the last 3 years here playing safe.

West ham remind me of us. They are run terribly behind the scenes and the cracks got covered simply because they got one managerial decision correct.

They don't even have any scouting network, Dildo Dave Sullivan just calls up some agents he has good rapport with (read: handsomely pays fees to) and asks them to recommend players for him.

And yet the players we were linked to, often were linked with west ham, I wonder why that might be :thumbup:

I'd like West Ham to go down more because it might shut up some of the people who laud Potter and his turgid style of football, but I will take no joy in a solid professional like Mads, who was the reason we got any points at all before Christmas last season, struggling.

 

Feel the same about JJ at Leeds too. For all his faults post injury he's been a big part of our club in recent years, not one of the 'bad eggs' by any means, and any joy watching Leeds collapse would never be at his expense for me.
