Famously shut down for months after they found cockroaches in the kitchen

I know there was an issue with some health inspectors getting ill twelve years ago?

No mention of infestation or poor hygiene from what I read, likely ingredient based. I remember a similar scenario in Newcastle which was caused by bay leaves...

I'm fascinated by this comment. What do you mean big blue muff?

What I mean is Grebfromgrebland , myself and my family ate at this place several times over the years and the food is shit, never again will I eat there. Been informed illegals are being housed in the hotel part of the building

Tipu Sultan in Oadby is a banger. Really flavoursome and moreish. The lower spice levels are a bit higher than your average curry house as well.

They do the basics really well too. Can't get enough of the daal and pilau rice.

Edit: Obviously not in town, should've read the OP properly. But if you fancy walking the food off, give it a go

The broadway - book well in advance they are packed Friday/Saturday

If you can’t get in Broadway go to the Jungle club instead. Chef from the Broadway is running the kitchen there as well now. Same menu, same prices

Tried the woolpack on Catherine Street. Very impressed.

Mixed grill was juicy.

Chicken tawa with spicy minced lamb sauce.

Decent lagers on tap.

Sky/TNT.

Too far from the ground to walk, but it was worth the faff of the drive/parking up.
