Never, Marti will find a way, hopefully the club can help in him in the window though or the players get there act together and play as a team.

I think there's a distinct possibility and very much depends what's happens in this window.

There's a definite malaise with certain players at the club.

My major concern is we lose some more key players right at the end of the window and don't replace.  Imagine losing Fatuwa.

Then we get stuck with the likes of Winks and Faes who dont want to be here.  Possibly then making the dressing room worse.

Add a 10 point deduction in November and we could be well into the relegation zone by the new year.

We're then chasing our tails trying to sign players and before you know it in the shit

Yes technically we could but no we won’t. As much as the squad is crap. It’s crap for a PL club. It’s ridiculously stacked at this level. We’ll be fine. And if we’re not, Marti will go and someone will come in who will make us fine.

I should add that I’m fully backing Marti to be the guy by the way.

I didn’t see a lack of fight on Sunday in the second half, though just my opinion.

I also see a very driven manager, who I think will see ourselves as the biggest club he has managed.

As such I don’t believe we will be relegated.

Before a ball was kicked I had us down in automatics, the display at the weekend and y’day and the attitude of some of the players (Faes/winks) and starting soumare and skipp and having essentially a non existent midfield I think 8-10th with points deduction

I still think we’ll win the league, so no.

Whilst we haven’t looked great, neither has most of the division.

Marti needs time to implement his style.

We still have the best squad in the division in my opinion, however that could change  y the end of the window.

Obviously we COULD.

But we won't.

The window is running out and there's still more rumours about sales than purchases, we clearly should be worried about the actual position we're in financially because I definitely think it's worse than we realise.

But the squad we'll be left with is still far better than the bottom half of this league.

Completely agree the squad, even with sales is better than a lot of squads in this division but we’ve seen a spiral before. With a pretty decent if not strong squad and once you hit that, it’s very hard to get out of. That squad that went down in 23 was far better than many who were above us, but the “downer” we started the season with, the lack of incomings and also, Danny Ward, dropped the squad far below standards.maybe if the Brentford result was different, we would’ve had a different season, That does worry me.

However, I think yesterday’s performance and result was so important. Marti is in a difficult position but he’s seen in two games players letting him down and we don’t have this false pretence of steamrolling the league like we did a couple of years ago. We need players to hold each other to account. Last time, it was KDH, Vardy etc. who is it this time ?

But yeah, right now, it would be unthinkable that a squad containing BEK, Mavididi, Fatawu, Winks would be anywhere else but top 6.

Squad would be in decent shape if the so called ‘senior pros’ were actually committed and focused on helping our younger players step into the team and develop. Very doubtful that this is the case with many of them given body langauge / transfer links / being hawked around by agents, if the majority of these stay around post the window, it’ll only take a bad few results for a real negative spiral to set in. This division is as much about momentum, playing for each other, commitment and battling as it is about alleged premier league quality, on that basis we could easily find the club struggling.

If we play Soumare and Skipp and the youngsters take too long to adapt then yes.

We must get in a couple of players with the right character otherwise we're in trouble.

Playing players in the last year of their contract is a recipe for disaster. They don't want to get injured and know that the club doesn't want them so they're just biding their time till the end of the season.

Any player not wanting to sign a new contract or isn't good enough should be sold as they enter the last 2 years of their contract. Should be a club rule.

All we have is players that don't want to be here leaving for nothing.

It could happen. We have an extremely thin squad full of mercenaries who clearly don't want to be here and a shocking lack of activity in the transfer market, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't sign another player during this window.

The past 6 weeks bring back memories of the complacency and incompetence of Summer 2022.

I don't think we'll be anywhere near bad enough to go down but I definitely think, especially with one or two more key departures and not a great deal of activity in the other direction, we may well be bad enough for it to be another really unenjoyable slog of a season

We have enough to survive fairly comfortably. We are light on goals. And we will be exposed at the back all too often when we are pressing high to score that goal.

The club is clearly torn, and rudderless. Do they go all out for promotion this year and try to run very close to the PSR limit? Will their target players be as keen to come to the club if we are hamstring already with a deduction? Do they use this year as a building phase, getting rid of players who want out and recycling the squad?

It feels a bit like we are almost planning to be in the championship next year. Spend as little as possible, shed the high earners blood the youth increasingly throughout the year.

We obviously witnessed with Rodgers that there's no such thing as too good on paper to go down and a spiral can be severe.

But I have faith enough in Cifuentes, he seems a good human being and a decent manager of people, I can't see him doing a Rodgers or a Ruud.

I think he'll get enough effort out of the players to at very least deliver their par.

And we're not getting rid of Stolarczyk, Faes, Vestergaard, Hamza, Ayew, Thomas, Mavididi, Soumaré, Skipp, et all and whilst I have doubts that all of those are good enough for promotion in a non-Enzo managed team, they're definitely all too good to get relegated with Cifuentes.

I’m not trying to be negative and I appreciate we’re literally only a game or two into the season but after what I have seen so far, I’m seriously concerned we could do a Luton. It’s not that we don’t necessarily have the talent but we just don’t have the fight or right attitude. You need to fight and battle in the championship and I can see so many teams rolling us over because we’re incapable of doing this. I think it could be a very very difficult season

No.
