Tactically outsmarted by Nathan Jones. 
 

Charlton have pressed us in the right areas. 
 

Skipp, Soumare and Ayew need substituting.

Definitely bring Ricardo on at RB.

 

i would play Ayew and Daka. Play 2 strikers. Surely do not need 3cms when 2 of them are skipp and Soumare.

The system he’s in hasn’t worked for us for over a year. I’m on about having a ball winning / destructive DCM, rather than 2 shielding midfielders, allowing us to play higher up the pitch

Charlton better first half, look more likely to score. Quite shithouse, especially their full-backs, that LB particularly flopping on the floor while trying to run by Fatawu and then a minute later he's screaming at the ref for giving a FK away because he's run into the back of Fatawu while he's trying to control the ball while having his back to the Charlton LB.

 

Great save from Stolarczyk, again shithoused a minute later by their player with an elbow in the back of his head. Jones screaming at the ref at every whistle blow against red, in-between frantically chewing gum, mouth open.

 

Think Page is struggling. Monga is doing well. Choudhury keeps losing the ball. Midfield is painfully bad at progressing the ball, very poor there, the ball just keeps coming back to defence if we don't lose it. Ayew not up to much. Fatawu giving it a go.

 

Looks more likely we lose here to me.

Take page off move Ayew back as it’s physical and page looks lost

Get soumare and Skipp off put Riccy on and winks move Hamza into midfield

Skipp is genuinely one of the worst midfielders to wear the shirt. Nothing player. Cant pass, shoot, run or tackle. Bodied off the ball constantly

Skipp honestly plays like a bloke whos won a pub raffle to get a run out 

No pressing whatsoever 

Giving them so much time on the ball when they have it 

Pointless crosses into the box

Too many things wrong here to change it all. But Alves as he at least has the personality to want to change the game. Ricardo on. Daka to at least offer the option of going in behind.

 

Take your pick who comes off as there's a good case for 6/7 of them.

Ricky P on for Skipp moving hamza to midfield. Winks for bouba and (hate to say it) Daka for Page. They need some one in midfield who wants the ball and wants to win as the are so predictable with the pass it to fatawu. They need to up the tempo because if they continue like this it’s going to be a long season.

I'm sorry but calling skipp and soumare midfielders of any kind is an insult to all midfielders that play football.

Game plan: pass the ball endlessly but only if it's in or around our penalty box.  Make sure you make at least 2 big mistakes whilst doing this to gift opportunity to opposition team. In the unlikely event we make advances beyond our penalty area, do 1 of 2 things; 1 ensure you don't pass and try and run through players or 2, hoof it somewhere where none of your fellow players will receive it. End of plan.

Skipp and Soumaré off, Winks and Ricardo on please. Ricardo to go to RB, Choudhury to move into CM alongside Winks, or as the holding player.

 

We need to see more fight. Now.

Well of course not but he doesn't have to play them or both of them together, it's almost as though he thinks they are good but I'm honestly not sure what he has seen.
