The problem is CM. We have absolutely nothing in there. Teams can dominate that area on the ball and double up on our wingers off it because our midfielders can't create anything.

That too me is a fâr bigger issue than striker, especially if Winks and BEK go.

I think at this point in the season, that is what it’s about.

our squad is up in the air. We are in financial ruin. I expect our incomings to be very late in the window when we know how much we’ve banked and how much we can spend.

Things will/should start to take shape around October when the squad is settled. Until then it’s a case of grinding out results and making sure we are in and around the mix. Whilst performances have been awful, we have 2 wins out of 3, which isn’t actually that bad considering what we feared.

Agree, especially when you consider Charlton had a long unbeaten home record coming into this game, and having made a good start to their season. It wasn’t pretty but we got there in the end.

Remember that the first few performances with Enzo weren’t great, we hit our stride after 7 games or so, and that was with a relatively settled squad.

I didn't get to watch the game.... Genuine question, how did the youngsters get on?  I saw they got subbed, but didn't know if that was more about protecting them or they were less effective than they could have been?

I wasn’t convinced with the performances with Enzo ever mate. So slow and dull and lots of lucky low scoring wins, and then we completely sh@ ourselves for a bit and the squad decided to go against the manager and start counter attacking and we scraped it.

It was a very low bar set by our senior players today.

They were OK. Not awful but none particularly shone either.

Very tough game though, as the whole team were so poor today.

Stinking performance but a win's a win. Choudhury and Stolarczyk very good, Ayew and Skipp very not good. Completely unconvinced by the squad and equally sceptical that we'll add sufficient quality to it over the next week or so.

We had a period of battering sides, patience is key. Back against the walls wins like this can be huge for morale.

Monga was being kicked to death throughout but held his own bit quiet.

The youngsters held their own on the whole which is to be commended but their weren't many highlights. Defended well.

Thought it was brave of marti to be honest and says a lot about him.

You mean they stood off him completely so he had loads of space, on his best runs he stood and looked around like he didn`t have a clue what to do because he still had the ball, yep his best game by far, BAAA

the man is worse than useless

So are your comments

Main positives for me so far:

We are playing fairly badly and winning games

The manager is making for the most part sensible changes and does so early enough in games

Monga hardly involved, anything we played forward was down Fatawu’s side. Page struggled

Celebrating 3 points and a clean sheet by being dragged to TK Maxx with the missus. Seems fair after some of those…ups and downs.

Good win.

However, we’ve lost the midfield battle in every game this season for large parts of games. BEK may be going and replacing him would be great but if we sign/loan one player it’s got to be someone to replace Skipp and/or Soumare. Neither offer anything of value. Genuinely think we have a lot that can hurt teams but those two will hinder us.

Tidy assist from Soumare?

Stood up well in the face of a very physical opposition.

I do feel sorry for page, given the duo behind him, but we can't expect page and Monga to be our game winners.  Far too much pressure for young lads.

Our strikers wont get 10 goals between them this season. Id say that is the biggest issue by a mile

As long as someone does, who cares  :dunno:

Well that was a hard watch and we have Stolarczyk to thank for that result.

Thought Stolarczyk & Choudhury were by far our best players and Winks did well when he came on.

Fatawu & Monga completely out of the game bar the one thing he did good all game which was thankfully all that was needed from him today.

Thomas an absolute liability.

Key thing I took away was our complete lack of physicality.  Lost just about every 50/50 and most were brushed off the ball far to easily. All physical teams in this league so that needs improvement.

Anyway, 3 points even if it was daylight robbery.

I'd say Monga was quiet today, but stood up well physically.

Page saw a fair bit of the ball. Generally okay. Got caught in possession once that might have been costly.

Thomas looked busy and sharp when he came on.

You arent going to get very far if your striker isnt scoring. Fatawu and Monga arent getting 15 each

Sure, ideally a striker who gets 20+, but we aren't landing another Vardy any time soon, we need to spread the load.

Some of the should come from a KDH type along with the wingers.

non existent, they realistically were bullied out of the game by the kind of big strong lads you will find in the Chamionship most weeks, but hopefully we will see a rapid improvement
