A real story of rising through the ranks too. A massive Rangers fan, he started off as a steward on the Fox Travel coaches in the 90s.

Quite a concern though that there's pretty much 1 guy at the club capable of being helpful and getting any credit for his work.

Jim's the life and soul of the club.

A true blue who's respected by all because of the nature he does his work, with professionalism, understanding and kindness.

Was worried when I saw this thread.

Yes he's a proper fan too so gets it

He should be head of ticketing and Customer Relations as the rest don't have a Scoobie

First met Jim in the early 90's in the Brian Little era when he was just a fan on away days.

Have bumped into him pretty much every season after that and we both always go out of our way to stop for a brief chat on matchdays when we see each other.

Cracking bloke, goes above and beyond and one of the LCFC good guys.

Never had any issues when I've liaised with him.

He just seems to understand what customer service is and how to speak to fans.

Yes the man's a rare breed down there - a total lone wolf

I’ve known Jim for a number of decades, starting with his Shepshed supporters bus days, £1 a game!

For over 10 years, myself and fellow For Fox Sake Podcast host Rob Hayes were commentators at the King Power Stadium.

Jim is an absolute star. From what I saw over all of those years, he does more for the football club and especially the supporters than you can ever imagine.

As they say in football… he’s a top top man.

Great OP. Shame the poor guy will get sacked if Top, Whelan or Rudkin read this.

Making fans supporters feel welcome and wanted is a sackable offence on Filbert Way

Says a lot about where we are ATM. A faceless guy that no one would recognise in the street has a thread that goes Hot.

As for the team and football the owner and his fvcking puppets  FLUSH THEM.

Nice guy but relatively ineffective in what a SLO really should be - more of a reflection of the situation the club put him in vs his actual ability though. I feel for him having to be the face of the non-existent comms the club puts out.

Him being helpful solving simple ticket queries is a waste of his time and should really be sorted by the ticket office directly but their incompetence generally requires his time and effort.

totally

Jim is not a SLO as an SLO should be. SLO's shouldn't be in suits, pitch side wearing a camera. That's not his fault that's the clubs interpretation and recruiting from the payroll rather than the terraces when it comes to being a SLO. It's a flawed UK approach to a role they mostly don't know how to handle. It is unfortunately not recognised as an important role across the UK footballing world so therefore a "who shall we give this job to" tickbox.

Jim is a good guy, I've never had an issue with him (although he did once tell me Herlihy was a good guy!!! haha) and I think when it comes to customer / supporter service that's where he sits. Him being a Rangers fan / football fan is a massive positive for him, the club and the fans as he does "get it" but as @Jackubu has said, Jim is up against with the current structure and I don't think he has any autonomy whatsoever because of it.

What walking down grandby street I doubt it.

Why don't you ask the people in the stadium? You know, Leicester fans.

Never forget when he "understood my grievances" because they'd scrapped the Student Season ticket as I travel in from Nottingham while they were giving out free tickets to DMU students.

Offered me 20% off at the club shop.

Turned up to the ground for the next match and you got 20% off the club shop with the programme.

Cheers Jim.

Surely he took on LEGENDARY Status after Dyer's goal!!!

I think it was actually the 2nd goal he was celebrating - I think he had to go and calm down - gawd knows what he was like for Dyer's winner!

He's sometimes just as complicit in some of the crap the club pulls but ultimately he's a good guy in a difficult situation.

Not so much him personally but it's another case of somebody having been in their post for decades at the club, no wonder there is little innovation.

Was an absolute gent when I asked about moving our season tickets (to bring them closer to exit stairs)

He invited me, along with their ‘accessibility officer’

Patiently showed me all the options and was wonderful to deal with…. Great and effective follow up communication too

Also did a stadium tour for just me and my lad…. A cock up had cancelled all the others due to turn up!!

If Leicester City had more people like Jim Donnelly around then they would not be i the mess they are in.

I've had many dealings with him over the years and he is the nicest bloke you could ever wish to meet, a consummate professional and one of the best.
