Battered side syndrome on here, one 6.5/10 performance and some are wavering. I’d sell him even if we couldn’t replace him

so Winks/Skipp as our only cm options for half a season then? unless you're inventing novel zero CM formations, going down to 2 cms is an awful idea

This! Such short sighted if we sell him without a replacement. Completely agree if we can get rid given his contract, but I'd rather have him than only be left a moody Winks and Skippy the Kangaroo bobbing around our midfield for rest of the 42 games of this season which would be crazy.

We’re most likely not going up, we lose him on a free otherwise - he barely wants to be here. We’ve seen him offer next to nothing 90% of the time.

It’s drastic but we just have to rid ourselves of the players with a year left.

Ricardo is back, so Choudhury could play in midfield. Maybe we land James. Cover, Braybrooke could maybe fill in a bit

never mind not going up, if you strip the squad back to barely having a starting 11 in the event of 1 injury, you're most likely in a relegation battle. If we can get replacements lined up by all means yes, sell him but "sell even if we can't replace" is just rank stupidity, nothing more or less. Rebuild the club, not asset strip it and see how far it sinks

Rabiot done supposedly

Fair enough. I didn't expect him to want to play second fiddle to Soumare but football is a funny old game...

We’d be fine. Even if we didn’t bring anybody in this window we’d have to stick it out until January - about 17 games. He doesn’t add much anyway.

I probably am being overly flippant but we just need to be shit off the shit players who offer so little

the other way to put that is we'd have to go a third of a season without any squad depth at all in the most important position in the game (if you lose the midfield battle you lose the game most of the time). Is Soumare good, no, is he good enough for this division, yes, does he add squad depth, yes.

We cannot and absolutely should not sell everyone without replacing them. If we have deals lined up to get the replacements in, absolutely sell, but it is a major act of self harm to just sell everything that moves without a succession plan

Selling Soumare ≠ selling everybody.

I doubt he goes anyway, too late in the window and there’s other things going and not like there’s concrete interest.

"shit players who offer so little" covers at least 20% of our squad and that's being generous to a few of them, and I feel like you're still missing the key point of needing to have some squad depth in each position and not be a single Skipp thigh strain away from having to have a kid like Braybrooke play 90s week in week out

One of those transfers where I don't care which way it goes. Can see the positive in both outcomes. Although I can sense a Vestergaard style redemption arc if he stays. Can also see him going the same way as Kelechi however, which is an outcome we don't want to replicate.

I'm swaying towards keeping him tbh unless we get in two CMs today.

AS Roma are reportedly hopeful of landing Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumare in a bargain deal during the January transfer window.

Soumare’s contract with the Foxes is due to expire at the end of the season, meaning that if no extension is agreed by the new year, he will be free to hold talks with overseas clubs regarding a pre-contract agreement.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness ), Roma are looking to take advantage of the situation, with their interest in the Frenchman said to date back to the summer of 2024.

READ MORE: Leicester City announce transfer as statement made The report suggests that Soumare could be available for less than €10 million in the mid-season window, as Leicester look to avoid losing the 26-year-old for nothing.

Soumare arrived at the King Power Stadium with a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising young midfielders, but he has struggled at times to fully live up to that early potential. Nevertheless, he has developed into one of Leicester’s key performers in recent seasons.

In the last two matches, the Frenchman has found himself on the bench under Marti Cifuentes, playing only four minutes in total. However, he started the previous seven Championship fixtures, highlighting his importance to the squad.

Leicester currently sit third in the Championship as they bid to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.
