Popular Post Sol thewall Bamba Posted 2 December 2025 Popular Post Posted 2 December 2025 He's been here 4 seasons (not counting his loan) and we've been relegated in 2 of them and at our lowest eb in 18 years in another. "There's a player in there" though apparently. 7 1

Daka, skipp easily ahead of him and carranza looks like the worst player we’ve had since Ryan mcgiven. Daka is shite but he has been a better signing all told than this lardarse. 8

You've got to be an idiot or on the troll to claim Bouba has been a better signing overall than Daka. They've both been terrible signings but there's levels. 5

BERTRAND DAKA SOUMARE VESTERGAARD Let that level of incompetence sink in... I want the 3 of those still at the club out as much as anyone. It’s shocking we still have Vestergaard until 2027. But for balance, hindsight is a wonderful thing. You look at the threads on this forum for Daka and Soumare when they signed and everyone was buzzing. I maintain the signings weren’t the problem as not all signings work out. The problem has been the money involved. Transfer fee wise, did Salzburg and Lille see us coming? Probably. But wages is the key thing. We have clearly been offering players too higher starting wage here rather than them earning it from contributions here (like Vardy and Schmeichel). Had we not given them such high wages, we likely could have moved them on part way through their contracts when it was clear they weren’t working. Possibly the amortisation of the transfer fees as well but mainly wages. Bertrand. Again, he was seen as a smart free signing having just lost Fuchs. To be fair, the club should have done due diligence on the fact he was, by that point, after a final wage, despite the fact he had been a solid player earlier in his career. The salary offered again was criminal. But the signings from a fans point of view (without being privvy to the finances) has some merit. Vestergaard is the one on that list where I think the whole fan base were pissed off, given we know the money we paid. £15mill, the wages we paid and then offering him an extension on top has been shocking business for a terrible player. The link here has been wages as that is what has left us stuck with these duds. We had such bargaining power at our peak. I can’t believe we felt it was necessary to essentially not negotiate and just give in to all demands…. 2
surrifox Posted 3 December 2025 Posted 3 December 2025 Bertrand was a client of Rodgers’ son’s useless agency . He did us up like a kipper 1

Lambert09 Posted 10 December 2025 Posted 10 December 2025 I would be surprised if he’s actually injured and not just taking time off before forcing a loan through in Jan

The biggest farce of this is the fact three of those four are still here and I've no doubt Bertrand would be too if he hadn't retired. If you drew up some comparisons from other clubs it would make for hilarious reading and puts into context how absurd this is.

Everton: Demarai Gray, Begovic, Andros Townsend, Dele Alli Aston Villa: Danny Ings, Calum Chambers Arsenal: Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Tomiyasu Crystal Palace: Odsonne Edouard I've specifically picked out signings who made little impact in the season we had that window. That's the timescale you're looking at - what we do is equivalent to if these clubs were still reliant on those players in nearly 2026. It's completely preposterous. 1 1
jonny_wright Posted 7 January Posted 7 January Too much foreplay with Soumare, constantly linked but never moves 1
Md9 Posted 7 January Posted 7 January Just get rid already. We all know this will go on until the end of the window nothing will happen and will got for free when his contract is up 1
Popular Post moore_94 Posted 7 January Popular Post Posted 7 January They made pretty decent offers for him before that we stupidly rejected and now gonna get him for fvck all Rudkin-nomics 5

Issue is we have around 3.4m of amortisation left on his value for this years so they are bound to want that or more. I think the best we can hope for is a loan fee and he wages paid for. 1

I see any income we can get for a loan fee and a someone else paying their wages a bonus. I can't see how we let those 3 go with bring in at least 1 CM and 1 CF 1
kingfox Posted 7 January Posted 7 January We’d be crazy to let him go, time to reintegrate him so he can help improve our distance covered statistic. 3
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 7 January Posted 7 January Posted this in the match thread, I was shocked and happy for a second, then I realised it was just 💩 reporting 4
