Can only judge in a few months surely?

Happy with the signings today, but time will tell if they are any good.

We have been better at getting rid of people but that's cos the bids have been there.

Given the circumstances, this is a solid 8 for me.  All our problems can't be sorted out in a single window but this is a positive step in the right direction.

Squad is weaker overall. That cannot be classed as a good window. Strange goings on all round. I’d give it a 2 at best, but let’s not kid ourselves, this isn’t a 6, let alone a 7 or 8.

Could have been worse. We still have Fatawu and Monga, and we are on budget

We have strength in depth in defence (i think we look better when we have gone 352 at the end of games). Sure it would have been good to have moved on a few others, but is does give us options. Let's see what Marti can get out of them. He might even be able to find a proper footballer in Soumare and Daka, and instill some respect in Faes and Winks.

Good:

Backup keeper acquired in Asmir Begovic, albeit one that I hope we will never need. Enough said about that, we could have done better with this, but here we are.

Desperately-needed striker acquired in Julian Carranza, albeit on loan and with a questionable record from Feyenoord. That said, it's no worse than what we have now, so let's see what he can do. He will have a clean slate, but may need to time to bed in so we need to be patient with him.

Two decent young players, both with points to prove, hopefully they will take off and really enhance our midfield which is begging for creativity. Over to you JJ Mk2 and Ramsey!

Cleared out some god-awful deadwood, some with expiring contracts. Other players sold for higher than expected fees such as James Justin. Leeds got rinsed there...ha. Helped us stave off the claws of PSR who are always waiting to tear chunks out of us.

Finally let Vardy go, he got his farewell, but we need those expensive wages back in our pocket rather than his. Good luck in Italy, Jamie.

Cons:

Couldn't get any meaningful interest for Daka, Soumaré, Faes or Winks. The latter two now need to ditch the sulking and get on with it.

Striker remains a concern despite the deadline day arrival of Julian Carranza.

This is my biggest concern of all. I fear the deadline day arrivals will direct some of the heat away from the hierarchy if those signings do well. The fickle fanbase cannot be allowed to forget how this club has rapidly deteriorated over the last few years, and it is their fault. Rudkin probably feels a lot safer and now the pressure shifts towards Cifuentes to produce the goods on the pitch.

GK: Stolarczyk, Begovic

RB: Ricardo, Hamza

CB: Vesty, Okoli, Nelson, Faes

LB: VK, Thomas

CM: Skipp, Soumare, Winks, JJ

RW: Fatawu, BDCR

AM: Ramsey, Ayew

LW: Mavididi, Monga

ST: Daka, Carranza

Plus a few youngsters here and there to fill gaps. Lot riding on Carranza in particular but that’s not looking like a bad squad overall for the Championship.

On the back of that, given our finances and including the new manager I’m giving it an 8/10.

Moaning fan base 10/10

Smart options 9/10 - a good window with no gambles. Shifted some of the shite here.

I think we could of signed a front 3 of Rodrygo, mbappe & vini jr & some would still moan.

Considering how much we’ve bought in financially and cut the wage bill, seemingly still being left with a squad to compete at the top end it’s a good window.

The financials are so important. Would seem we will be out of the woods from next summer.

For me I'd go around 5/10.

I think the late flurry has probably blurred the lines a little. Now fair play - they've plugged for me probably our three weakest areas and I will give a bit of credit for that, as basic as it sounds - I was seeing links to goalkeepers and wingers and fearing the worst.

They've also made fairly cost effective signings. Carranza, James and Ramsey are all relatively cheap deals. In our position this is the sort of thing that will tie us over for a little while - it would've been nice to have brought in a couple of young prospects on permanent deals though, low risk, high upside types, but this is another way to do it, I suppose.

Departures - again, it's an improvement, but it's from an extremely low bar and I still think we have far too many players now who are going to walk away for nothing again. I still think we needed the likes of Winks, Soumare, Reid, Ayew, etc.. who didn't have much time left on their deals moving on. We've gotten good fees for McAteer, Ndidi and Justin, a pretty disappointing one for Hermansen and an absolutely abysmal deal for El Khannouss that renders the signing of him in the first place essentially pointless. We did manage to get Coady out too, which can only be a plus.

I just think it should've been more drastic. I think we've made some fairly prudent moves but I think it could've been a lot more. There's still a bit too big an element of kicking the can down the road for me. I don't think we're particularly well set up for this time next year.

What I will say though is in the short-term we do have a decent chance of promotion with a points deduction. The league so far has fallen excellently. As unconvincing as we've been, we have clearly made an improvement to our team upon the first four performances where we were pretty dodgy in all of them yet still managed three wins. The expected rivals have been pretty appalling for the most part - Sheffield United, Ipswich and Southampton so far have 1 win between them. Even if we were to be docked 9 points, we would be level with Sheffield United, 4 points off Ipswich, and 5 off Southampton. This is better than any of us thought would really be the case.

I think things have fallen pretty well for us. An 'OK' window for me, but as ever I think there is certainly room for improvement.

We'll be in a better place but our squad will be pretty tiny assuming those out of contract leave. We will need double figures of incomings next summer, that's my worry.

Out of the ones who went I’ll mostly miss:

Mads - thought he was a great keeper, but we were very fortunate to have Jakub as a back up

Bilal - I was hoping he’d rip up this division, but was never 100% convinced he would. I still feel he’ll be a loss though even if it was the correct decision to move him on

JJ - I’ve still got a soft spot for JJ, but it might be mostly nostalgia. We should have adequate cover in the squad

Ndidi - For all his limitations he was still demonstrably better than Skipp and Soumare. I’d rather have had one of those go.

The rest of the outs - meh!!

Of the Ins I just don’t know.

I felt that we needed a minimum of a striker and 2 midfielders on deadline day and that’s what we got. If Winks can stop sulking we might now just be ok in midfield.

All I know about the new striker is what I’ve seen on YouTube clips.

At this point in time I’ll give it 5/10. It could have been better (the last Championship summer window was excellent), but it could have been a lot worse (see our abysmal last summer window in the PL).

If Carranza turns out to be any good it might turn out to be a 7 or 8/10 kind of window. Those already giving it that kind of score must have better football knowledge than me in terms of what our new players (Carranza, Ramsey) will bring

Hard to say until we see what Ramsey and Carranza are going to be like and how much Cifuentes takes to them.

With the supply he'll get from Fatawu alone, Carranza could have a very solid year but he could also be a flop and it's the most important position we needed to recruit for.

JJ is a known quantity and if we really can sign him for €5m that is frankly bonkers. Even twice that wouldn't be unreasonable.

I don't think he's quite as good as some of our fans are hyping him up in their heads but he's definitely very solid at this level and better than what we have.

Especially compared to Skipp for 25m.

I'd say maybe 6/10 at the moment? We've done no harm to ourselves, we've potentially added profitable value and we've reinforced in key areas without much expense.

But let's not kid ourselves, this SHOULD be barely par.

Some rose tinted specs after a fun deadline day there, I think.

We've got rid of some dross, and expensive dross at that. Brilliant.

Lost a few ok players.

Not signed anyone permanently (Begovic doesn't really count) and the 2 loans are somewhat gambles.

I'm feeling cautiously positive right now but in the cold light of day, it's a 5 for me.

The core too our dross is still here rotting the place out Daka, soumare, vesty, feas, reid, Kristenson even ayew to a degree...were stuck with them due to crazy contracts, no team in there right mind would pay them what they are getting here unfortunately

2?! lol I agree that 8 is way too high but a 6 is fair. Shifted a lot of wages off the books and got a bonus deal with McAteer where they've paid way over the odds, so on the outgoings, I'd say 8 compared to recent years. Incomings is probably a 4 as James is good but Ramsey and Carranza are a gamble. So up top is weaker and middle we're effectively 3 established players given Winks is sulking. But the wings are better than last year with Monga getting more game time and Fatawu back. Full back much the same, and I'd argue keeper is as well. Centre of defence is probably better as Nelson is around.

So a mixed bag. Concern is the balance of the squad in the centre areas. But the silver lining is there is more of a pathway there for the likes of Page.

My instinct is somewhere in the middle but really it's difficult to assess because so much of it seems to have revolved around trying to un**** our finances, and none of us have any real way of knowing to what extent we've done so.

From a football/competitive point of view, I'm not blown away but it certainly could have been worse and I'm pleasantly surprised we've got three incomings over the line today. Need to wait and see how they get on obviously, particularly Carranza who I'm not that optimistic about but am looking forward to seeing. James and Ramsey I hope will prove decent additions to what I'd have said was the weakest area of the squad and it's good to get the likes of Alves and Braybrooke loans. We've also kept hold of Fatawu and, even better, not kept hold of Coady.

Disappointing not to have shifted any of Faes, BDCR, Vestergaard, Daka, Soumare, Winks and Ayew, particularly given you'd imagine the last four will now almost certainly be leaving for nothing at the end of the season without Turkish/Saudi intervention.

Fair points.

I think where we have done well is getting £12m for Mcateer and £10m for JJ.

The biggest win is arguably financially as we have massively reduced our wage bill, made money from player sales and not actually paid for any players other than loan fees.

Of course the squad could be stronger and we'd have liked VK, Soumare, Faes, Daka and Winks to leave but overall we have a side that should compete at the top of the table in this league.

Keeping Monga and Fatawu were huge plusses and also not signing any shite on big wages is a huge step forward for us.

Ayew will be fine in this Div......Can't believe we turned down bids on Daka.....£8m so i've been told!

Im of the understanding the offers over the last few windows have not been turned down, we had negotiations, however Daka was unwilling to drop salary, snd as much as i dont really like daka, you cant blame him wanting to stay knowing he was always 2nd fiddle to vards,  and happy not starting most games ...money talks and bullsh!t walks.
