Interesting in a good way - Monga starts, Soumare dropped, Ayew Dropped

Interesting in a bad way - Hamza in for Ricci, Faes not dropped

And why is Ward injured, we could have done with him in Wrexham goal today!

Are we sure Nelson isn't actually injured?

Transfermarkt has had him down as injured for our last 3 games and today.

They have him injured since November 2024 though, so not sure it can be believed

Be harsh on Daka being dropped before ref starts game

I think Daka is a good call in the circumstances. Shame Ricky isn’t in but we all know why and managing his minutes. Reid is never going to be an exciting selection but let’s see.

Not sure what people were expecting rotation-wise by the way. Their back line is slow as shit in a canal, even if he can't hit a barn door Daka is probably the wiser option purely as he's the paciest option we have. Hopefully we do see some of Carranza later, he had a stinker at WBA but on the flipside he looked sharp against Cov in his cameo.

BDCR is far more questionable, but someone had to come in. One of him or Monga is going to play in the middle.

More importantly, he's dropped all three of Stephy, Ayew and Soumare - the players the fans could see were our clear weak links. Yes it's a few games later than it should have been, but the fact it's happened at all alone is more proof that he's the most perceptive manager we've had in a long while. Even if it's not the exact personnel a lot of us wanted we should be backing the manager's choice.

Bring it on, Disney boys.

Couldn't agree more, the man needs time and backing from the fans.

I'm beginning to think Martí reads FT when deciding the team.

Think he might have shot quite a few of them before now if that was the case.

Well, it's different. If it's crap at least it'll be crap in a new way rather than another week of Ayew slowing everything down and Mavididi skinning himself. Ricardo on the bench is disappointing but we know by now a) we can't realistically expect him to start every game and b) what an impact he can make off the bench.

There's been no mention anywhere of an injury for Nelson and you can see him with the rest of the squad in the training videos where he looks, to my layman's eye at least, healthy enough. Seems a safe bet he's just way down the pecking order which is a shame.

Ricci can't probably play 2 games in a week yet, better to rest him
