Assuming we get a 9 point deduction that puts us in 8 points a quarter of the way through the season.

also assuming we would need around 50 points to all be assure safety means we need 42 points from 35 games.

So maybe 12 wins and a smattering of draws.

considering we’ve lost the ability to even beat anyone in this league (despite the fact everyone seems to say this is one of the worst leagues in years) I’d say us staying up this year is 50/50.

Honestly such is the nature of the Championship I can easily see us win our next 2 and then everyone talking about promotion again.

A few good/bad results can quickly change everything in this league.

I said to my lads before the season started that we should have enough quality to stay up this season, I definitely fear a second relegation on the bounce with the way our so called ‘senior’ players have performed so far, Choudhury, Faes, Vestergaard, Thomas, Soumare, Skipp, Ayew & Daka have all been underwhelming to say the least, awful team to watch with these lot getting paid a small fortune to play…

Look another way to look at it is Marti figures this puzzle out and the team start playing at their optimum levels and start winning consistently. I know it’s kinda bleak now but things change in football.

those teams riding high now could have some blips . Of course the big FACTOR is the dreaded points deduction.

How big will that penalty and how badly will it dent the confidence of the team and fans?

Gun to my head I would say no we won't go down, but I think a loss on Saturday, which the more I think about it the more I can see happening, then I'd think we actually can. We don't do anything well and we're going to be docked some of the few points we actually have.

This lot have already shown zero stomach for the fight. They'll not gave a single shit when there's a few jeers at the end - it's normality to them. There is a culture of losing and failure at this club in 2025.

Luckily only two spots to play for. Sheffield United have picked up a little and should be OK. Norwich look bizarrely dreadful. Southampton I can't really work out - they have deep problems themselves but at least they can at least point to having some more encouraging performances than us, despite their dreadful league position.

Oxford, Portsmouth and Derby much of a muchness - all limited but stubborn teams as we have already found out.

Swansea are a dark horse to go down I think. They look pretty rubbish - they even managed to let in 3 to us.

Stranger things have happened.

I’m expecting to.

We’ve got a points deduction coming and in a right fricking mess commercially and sporting-wise.

I think it’s unlikely. Before the last two, we weren’t losing games. As long as it can be turned around again over the next few weeks we should end up mid table. I think in this league, and as the season goes on, there will be teams going on long losing streaks. Surely we still have the players not to be one of those….

Reminds me of similar conversations the season we got relegated from the Prem.

We absolutely could go down again, as the same warning signs from that season are there again this season. Too good to go down? With the same twats running the club, a toxic squad with no fight, a blunt attack and a shite defence....it feels horribly familiar to me.

This.

Yet only 2 points above it over our last 6 games, the team occupying 22nd is Blackburn.

If we lose to a team struggling more than us we are bang in trouble with 1 win in 9

I don't know what point you're making but the relegation threatened sides would love to have 2 defeats in 10.

We will not go down. We're shit and miles off where we should be but still well ahead of the sides that are going down.

It would take a substantial points deduction to get us near a relegation (I think we should survive even with a 20 point deduction).

I'm almost certain we're not getting 69/70 points this season, would love to be proved wrong.

I think we'll get about 58-60, then get an 7/8 point deduction.

Thomas will be suggested for the freedom of Leicester after a 8.1 performance on the left that will bring comparisons to prime Ashley Cole.

It's possible, but I don't think so.

We've been pretty crap so far and yet we've only lost to in form teams away from home. And in each of those games we could easily have taken points.

Hopefully Marti sees sense by dropping Thomas, and continuing to drop Faes. While we still won't score many, those changes should see us nick enough 1-0 wins.
