I know people moan about the magic of the cup being lost because Prem/Champ teams rotate squads... but something has clearly happened in the earlier rounds too that is affecting semi pro sides.

I suspect its that the League One/Two teams are more in need of the money from a decent cup run now than ever before so they put out stronger teams against non league sides than they maybe would have done in the past

Yeah probably. Just a shame really, even Weston who I mentioned are NLS so not even the sort of minnows i'm thinking from yesteryear.

Puel not Rodgers. How can I forget. We weren't allowed to set off until the Puel in/Puel out "debate" was settled on the bus.

It'll be Derby away, because we just played there. 

 

If it was to be a premier league away day then Everton or Spuds away. Two new stadiums for me.. but you wait it'll be shoved on Sunday evening tea time fixture for the tele.

Was just about to say if it has to be a Prem team then make sure it's one where the 10-15% allocation means 6k'ish

Right now would I swap any kind of cup run for 1 league point?

It seems a bit fruitless, we’re not equipped to do much or go far in it, is any prize / gate money gained significant enough to our deficits to help? Maybe a game where we can look at 2-3 others like Evans, S.Thomas and Aluko for 90 minutes we might learn a bit more about them. 

 

Jan 10th happens to be my birthday, I know not all games fall on the Saturday but away to Cambridge would be ideal for me (am I too old to be a mascot)? Home to Forest? I’d rather wait until we had some semblance of a side before renewing rivalries. 
 

Gut feeling it will be a dull away to a championship side fixture. Millwall or Stoke :dunno:.
