This guy has always been a real powerhouse. I have always likes his positivity as well, but his dress sense is a shocker LOL. If he hadnt have been injured id have taken him with no issues.

If the club is sensible, maybe play him on a trail basis in some friendlies/u21`s, assess and see if he can give us 90 mins in what is a physically challenging league.then I wouldnt be adverse to a deal until the end of the season on a pay as you play basis.

Either way, he cant be the only forward we sign. Carranza should go back, Antonio and one "better" option will do.

Femurs heal well, not like knees etc.

Our only financially realistic option for a striker this window is either a loan, someone untested (like Carranza) or someone experienced but not getting games.

I think Antonio is worth a go on a pay as you play deal.

He was out for 12 games with a knee injury before accident

We are in a rather unusual and unique situation, as is Antonio.  Given we'll currently be looking at having 0 strikers on the books in the summer, I think they'll be interested in offering him 6 months, on a modest contract, to gauge his fitness before seeing what we can offer him in the Summer if he's both fit and somewhat firing.  We're both desperate unfortunately.

What we NEED is someone who can score goals. Finish off sitters is the basic ask beyond that it’s a plus. Antonio is an experienced proven striker who’s proved it in premier league. Now his fitness is suspect plus his age however if he has improved fitness wise and can stay healthy why not take a punt? I agree with others that the deal should be risk mitigated ie loan only. I’m sure Antonio is looking at other championship clubs that might take him. His strategy is to go up with a winning club than try to get another move to a more established premier league team. Doubt he wants to stay in the championship.

I agree that - if he is showing decent form in training - we should offer a contract. It cannot be a loan as he is a free agent so perhaps on a games played basis. Neither António no City can know how his body will hold up given the effect of that car crash, It would be so good to have a striker who can score goals - a strange comment but true

How many has caranza got this season? Daka?

1 in 4 games in premier league with West Ham

what are you expecting? Prime Henry to come and join us

It shouldn’t be a race to the bottom. I’m not expecting prime Henry, or even prime Antonio to join us and hit the ground running. Just not someone that under this board will follow a certain way ie, well over the hill, commands a huge wage and blocks pathways for youth players like Evans.

Its not the player I have a problem with, its the same route thats been followed too many times under this board, short term stop gaps that are clear as day not going to make any difference short medium or long term, whilst players we have in the youth team get overlooked again and again

He might improve us, so I'm not totally against it. I could see this being described as shrewd if he came in and got a few goals, but it more likely does feel like another Vesty, Ayew.

It's such an indictment of where we are and our chronic lack of strategy though. I think that may be the thing that is worse than actually signing him.

Occasionally something happens and I think we're learning. And then we go back to doing things that have got us in this mess and I remember we never seem to learn a fvcking thing.

A few years ago I would have said yes, Now after his accident and injuries It's too much of a risk.

There has to be a young up and coming player we can take a chance on from the lower leagues.

I've always wanted big strong black forward, I remember when Traore used to boss Maddison acouple of years ago.

Heskey, Tricky Trev, Sir Les, Mark de Vries. Bring back the battering rams :D

Im all for it if he can prove he's fit and willing to just come until the end of the season.

Jamaica still have a good chance of qualifying for the world cup so hes going to be all out proving his worth to get in that squads..  definitely a small risk worth taking

Surely heskey on loan is a better move

Neither Heskey is a striker and Jaden is the one I've seen linked with possible loans and he's a midfielder.

might get lost. Don’t think he’d find his way back in the team..

maybe a better signing for The Trees?

Probably don't want to be collecting players at that age, but I don't hate this.

 - Still trying to work his way back to a contract following his injury shows me he has a good attitude

- Adds physicality to a team crying out for it

- Shouldn't be an expensive or lengthy contract

This all depends on how's he's looking in training of course, but I think a half season pint could be worth it.

Once Ayew goes off we have absolutely no ability to hold the ball up. Daka can't do it, Evans won't be able to do it at 16/17. Ball becomes pinballing up and down the pitch once we lose that

Mentioning skin colour is absolutely mental

Mate, your posts tend to be bizarre at best, but this is just weird. Moreover, the only thing that Traore 'bossed' was a tub of vaseline and 300mg of undetected Nandrolone per week
