Can confirm we’ve been contacted before, but it wasn’t the communications director.

we’ve also never been ‘censored’ as such, but we’ve been given examples of why the club find it difficult to work with fan channels and podcasts.

That’s what happens when you let @GLC run riot on the pod…

I’m joking, of course. Love a Potter rant.

They love a bit of background noise in a top interview don't they. Last time with the squeaky trolley and this time deciding during the womens game line up announcement was the right time to do it lol

I love it. It’s when Aussie Luke opens his mouth I really start to panic.

He’s great, it’s good people have somewhere to openly vent seeing as literally nothing has changed at the club and nothing is likely to with this goon in charge.

The fact anyone from the club would even think about contacting a podcast to even suggest regulating what is said is indicative of where we are at as a club.

What happens in these situations, as the Labour Government also have found out, is you just make the situation worse.

You cannot censor free speech. You aren't ****ing North Korea.

But he wasn't being evasive as you would expect anyone to do in that situation. He came across like he genuinely did not plan to sack the manager and expanded on his comments to suggest he needed more support etc... This along with the fact that the club was briefing journalists all morning that Marti wasn't going suggest that Aiyawatt had his mind changed at the subsequent board meeting.

Unless you can read minds its impossible to know.

We also don't know what journalists have been told or not told.

I just don't think the one particular thing is worth getting annoyed about.

I don't think thats what lox suggested.

I suspected that the questions would have been pre recorded and I called Owyn out on it. To be fair he messaged to say that weren't, and that pre-screening questions breaks BBC rules on interviewing. I have no reason to disbelieve him given the questions he did eventually ask.

Cant speak for the other channels/pods... but they have certainly never attempted to censor/regulate us. They have just provided examples of why they probably would never offer access/collaborate in any way. Examples meaning certain things said on stream, or tweets etc.

Apologies.

The way you made it sound was they've said they wouldn't collaborate because of things said. Which I would class as trying to censor.

He seems to be a dangerous combination of being naive, arrogant and a bit thick.

The 'get promoted next year' comment as a one off isn't the end of the world, if it was being used as a bit of a deflection tactic in public to avoid revealing too much. The problem is, what we've seen over the last 4/5 years shows there's seemingly no plan, which feeds into the idea that behind the scenes Top thinks everything will be alright and promotion will take care of itself.

I'm sure those more involved day to day have a very good idea of where this is heading, whether this is being communicated to Top and he's burying his head into the sand, or they're hiding this from him only they will know.

Regardless, the interview doesn't fill me with much hope things are going to improve anytime soon.

Where is this interview then?

It's interesting. He was interviewed yesterday and Radio Leicester released a short excerpt a few hours later. As yet there is no sign of the full interview or any details of when it will be broadcast. Jack Rafferty wrote on X that the full version will be available 'at some point in the near future', which sounds surprisingly vague to me.

Now I'm usually deeply sceptical of conspiracy theories, but I find this a little odd. Is it possible that parts of the interview have been held back to be broadcast after the points deduction has been announced? The view in the media seems to be that Top is only in the country because the verdict is imminent (sacking Marti was not on the agenda until FT on Saturday). Did he talk to OPA about the club's PSR issues & they're just waiting for the announcement before broadcasting it?

Look, I’ll admit taking a photo someone else made of Marti, dressed as Hitler and posting it on X… to a reaction of a number of likes/RTs was silly. 😬👀

Listened to about 5 mins, the more he opens his mouth the clearer it becomes that he doesn't seem to understand or appreciate there's issues. If he doesn't understand the problems then they'll never be fixed.

Can't even bring myself to listen to all of it.

The quotes I've seen about "we need support" is just another in a long line of gaslighting attempts to use us as supporters. The players were doing it after Preston away. They've mentioned the boos at home games getting to them. We've actually been incredibly patient for how incredibly quick this decline has been. They should be grateful there hasn't been riots.

The worst thing is there's still enough who back him because of what some players miraculously achieved and these drones put all the credit down to two Thai men. It's been like some weird worshipping cult more than a football club since then. Even to the point you'd watch him destroy what's left.

What was telling when asked about not going back up to the prem this season / next season, we will go up and laughs.

The “we promote next season” quote will age like milk.

Can only speculate about what happened during the meeting with Cifuentes if Top's starting point was to keep him on and 'find a solution'. Perhaps Cifuentes said that he can't pull this around without certain players being recruited but he won't resign (due to compo and he might still be recovering the money allegedly paid to QPR). Therefore he had to be replaced with a manager that can and the only way to do that was the sack. Confidence may have also been lost on both sides by then. Don't suppose we'll ever know or actually need to anymore.
