Aleksz Posted 20 January Posted 20 January Looking forward to seeing Hamza at left back again when Aluko is 10x a more natural solution there.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 20 January Posted 20 January The back 4 tonight would look ropey in a 3rd division Nations League game.

Muzzy_no7 Posted 20 January Posted 20 January Back 4 tonight should be Ricardo, Nelson, Vestergaard and Hamza. Aluko and Okoli off the bench if required.

The latter, given we're almost certainly going to rotate Ricardo out and we'll be horribly exposed at LB whatever route we go down. 1

Agreed marti will still be here come may even if we finish low as say 20th. Wouldn't surprise me if hes still here next season.

I thought Okoli looked much more secure than Nelson against Coventry so he wouldn’t be the one I’d take out unless he’s being rested. I still want to see Nelson continue in the team and think he has some good qualities which could be great in time. But our defensive record since he was introduced into the team has been abysmal. 26 conceded in the 14 he’s started, 14 in the 13 he hasn’t (in the league). Of course there are a lot of other factors at play but still a bit concerning.

Leicesterpool Posted 20 January Posted 20 January If thomas is dropped then could be a back three. Ricardo don't tend to play midweek so its possible.
mod hero Posted 20 January Posted 20 January That back line of ours is dreadful. And I include Ben Nelson in that. £30-40M future England international 😂 1

The reverse fixture is when the first Cifuentes out thread popped up but was then taken down. I said in there he is a mid table manager at best, a lot of people laughed at that but I still stand by it now. And that was in September. 1
adejo92 Posted 20 January Posted 20 January A win tonight would do absolutely nothing other than continue to paper over cracks, give Marti more time and give the KPFC droids something to sing about. Hope we lose. Short term pain for long term gain....Or at least the hope of... 2

Ricardo and Hamza will make zero forward passes so JV & son can constantly pass to Ayew or Daka to not control, and we get hit on the counter. If JV plays he has to make up for his fault last time. Unable to shoulder barge a player half his size.
foxgas Posted 20 January Posted 20 January I must be a mug but had a really vivid dream we won 0-2. Had a fiver at 14 to 1. Probably more money into the LCFC money pit lol.

The annoying thing is he's played it 46 times in his managerial career... including the entirety of his time at Aalborg (after trying 4-2-3-1 out for his first three games) but seemingly not for a team crying out for it.

Agree with this. Marti surely cannot stick with the same line up that is conceding so easily. Yes there is a worry about JV pace but he can pass the ball forwards.Would be OK with a back 3 as well. If there are no changes I would be very concerned. Haven’t heard any rumours about full back reinforcements but surely up there with the striker role as priority
