Sounds like he's left of his own accord rather than being sacked from that lcfc tweet

Top says he felt he had to make the decision. So sacked I think.

The statement says Top made the decision.

The next appointment is absolutely key now. I think we just need that interim fire fighter (old school, Dyche/Pearson type) manager to get us to the end of the season, as the squad this year will look completely different to the squad next year.

but you cannot do that, if they come in and keep us up they will expect a renewal. Be brave, go left field.

Good riddance. Guy‘s a fraud. How he manages to secure jobs is beyond me.

Just go back to his appointment last July. Top fell for the ruse. To this day, I don‘t know what manager he was describing. It wasn‘t Cifuentes. That we know now.

Now for a manager that can actually communicate, can identify with this club on a deeper level – and one who has a game plan.

The clean sheets start now.

Hurrah!

Good job we didn’t snatch another last minute equaliser yesterday. You wonder whether that would have given Top and co another excuse not to do the bleedin’ obvious.

No more hipster appointments now, people who turned their noses up at the likes of Moyes, Dyche, Wilder, Parker etc because we were 'too good' for those sort of managers need to realise that's exactly the sort of manager we need now.

We needed that profile back then too

I don't like journalists using the "he hasn't spent any money" excuse.

He's got the squad with the biggest wage budget the league has ever seen and he brought in two very proven Championship level players in the summer in on loan.

He had to go but this is such lame reasoning. Just because you overpaid for loads of rubbish it doesn't make it gold.

If we get the next appointment right (which we won't) then play offs are still very much in reach, even with a points deduction.

Not that I think promotion would be the best thing for this club right now.
