Stop being a stupid baby.

September, 20-22. This exact line is being rolled out by the KPFC boys to fans calling for Rodgers' head at Spurs away.

Skipp wont be here? Who on earth would sign him on the wages hes on? He'll be here for his full contract and then he'll leave on a free.

I'd like to think these players on high wages would mutually terminate rather than see the club bankrupt itself out of existence, but there's always the Dennis Wise option

I keep seeing people say that Skipp won’t be here if we are relegated.

For us to sell him PSR-wise we would need around 12.5-14m for him in the summer and then that also requires said club to agree to cover his bloated wages for the remaining 3yrs he still had here.

Who on earth is going to pay money for him?

Yea but you can't possibly blame the people running the club for this....

The board need removing for sanctioning this signing alone.

He wouldn't stand out in L1.

Why would  they ? They are no more than employees who, yes, are on top wages but they have signed contracts with a football club who knew exactly what they were doing albeit as we now know knowing and it being a wise decision by the club aren’t one and the same thing.

This is probably yet another Catch 22 situation the club will finds itself .

The bottom line in the accounts ending 30/6/26  probably won’t allow the club to impair any residue fee for those players who will have over 12 months on their deals come 30/6/26. Even those with no fee would almost certainly be looking for a significant settlement to walk away again those pesky accounts for 25/26  and likely 26/27 probably don’t have any room for manoeuvre when it comes to paying off contracts.

The problem is compounded because some players whose contracts end on  30/6/26 include some that the club possibly want  to  be around next season and but as free agents would they  want to sign a new deal certainly not in the EFL1. Then  you have the possibility that the player will just laugh at the offer.

Finally you have the likes of Monga who is still isn’t  on a professional contract .He may well have agreed to sign a 3 year deal but as a Monga is a minor any application to a court to void such an agreement would almost certainly be agreed  . Would he want to play in EFL 1 ? Would he realistically be well advised to hang around ?

But then the  bigger problem is that funds are so tight that every opportunity to save money has to be taken.

Then you are looking at around 10 players whose deals end in either 2028or 2029.who would cost a fortune to pay off.

As I say Catch 22!

Expect season long loans for the high earners left if league 1 comes calling and we can't sell realisticly for PSR or nobody will give the same salary as our crazy contracts.

Kristiansen

Okoli

Skipp

Vestergaard

Fatawu

Mavididi.

Woyo

Souttar

Nelson

None of above would consider themselves league 1 players so would stink the place out sulking anyway.

He isn't even worth that either. It's absolutely disgusting we paid £20m+ for him. I bet Spurs couldn't believe it when we came in with that.

To take the thread title literally, all of them are League 1 standard, if they get relegated. :dunno:..........although some would struggle at that level !

FWIW failings of character and temperament make nearly all of our squad unsuitable for any level of competition let alone L1. You can carry the odd dosser, but not a squad full

Skipp will look very much at home as a mid table League 1 meat and potatoes midfielder next season. An average League 1 player on a premier league wage. Hamza will also look comfortable as a League 1 utility player (on a premier league wage) and Luke Thomas perfect as a League 1 back up left back (on a premier league wage.)
