Ok - im not buying the 'a good point' bollocks.

Ipswich were really poor first half, and i think huffed and puffed 2nd half. If they were remotely composed they win that easily.

According to Footmob, we had a 2nd half XG of 0.04. Thats not a good point - its bordering on incompetence. We gave ourselves nothing to work with - at all. We couldn't mount a single counter - couldn't hold the ball in midfield. We literally handed them back possession in a variety of comical ways (defensive headers!).  This wasn't an Ipswich team head and shoulders above us. It's almost like the manager is instilling an inferiority complex into us.

I come out of this not thinking of a battling team who gave it there all, but one who couldn't quite believe they came off the pirch 1-1.

Simply terrible.

100%.

It's not a good point because we played well. It'd a good point because we'd have taken it before the game. Because we're rubbish and we'll take what we can.

I agree Ipswich were rubbish but we were even worse.

I do agree the tactical set up was all wrong and we were lucky though. But you're misunderstanding what people mean when they say it's a good point.

What should the tactical set up havw been?

They snatched at their chances and weren't composed. We were there for the taking and they failed.

There was good desire to throw bodies on the line but from a footballing perspective we were lambs to the slaughter. Ipswich will be kicking themselves.

Obviously the second half was a difficult watch; I've not implied anything else? But absolute bollocks that they snatched at their chances. They didn't have many. How many situations where you felt relieved with a poor finishing or indebted to JS for making a good save? Almost none.

They were absolutely the better team in the second half, but considering they're against a team that hasn't won in 10, hasn't kept a clean sheet for 30 games and the whole club is in complete free fall, that was a pathetic performance from Ipswich and they got what they deserved. Sort of performance we'd be seething with if the roles were reversed.

It’s both a good but also bad point.

Any point away from home for a relegation threatened side against a top 2 hopeful will always be a good point. I understand there was some battle, running and fight shown, for the first time in a while, which is positive. Only conceded 1 goal despite intense pressure and that’s good for a side leaking goals. No ground lost on WBA, Portsmouth and Blackburn despite having the toughest game on paper.

However, draws are no good at this stage. Draw every game until the end of the season and you go down. Being 1-0 up and not converting it to 3 points is ultimately 2 dropped. They were also totally dominant for 45 minutes which will cause tiredness but also not help morale and confidence. Ground lost on Charlton, they’re basically not going to be caught now.

It’s a very “meh” outcome, not great, not terrible. Proof will be in the pudding against a poor Bristol City team midweek. The draw is no good if it’s followed up with another or defeat, it becomes a better result with another 3 points following it up.

It was a good point, don't be ridiculous. They were 3rd. It not being ideal does not make it a bad point.

Some are just so used to being negative (yes, I see why, but...) they cannot even see small mercies any longer.

And yes, of course 3 points would have been better.

I’m just going to be repeating what everyone else said about the state of the game overall, but I have to say, Jordan Ayew needs to be banished from the history of this club the moment he leaves and as a fanbase we need to pretend he never pulled the shirt on.

Seeing him come on with little time left and not even break out of a jog is utterly disgraceful.

There have been times I’ve defended him especially under Marti where he was clearly instructed to drop deep, but it’s just the complete lack of ****s given from the likes of him and others that hang this club in the balance of having to fight off administration.

He might as well have been walking. Put literally anyone on the bench upfront ahead of him. Absolutely sick to death of seeing him jogging and walking everywhere. Disgraceful behaviour from someone earning far more than he deserves.

Exactly. The willingness to fight and scrap might be a false dawn but it seems people just want to completely ignore the context/get onboard with we're at. A point away from home against top 3, when we've been totally rancid is a bonus point. Key is to back it up with a win on Tuesday

I understand that they can't come on and totally run around like a headless chicken, but when you're on for 10 mins, it's inexcusable to not be sprinting and closing down anytime the ball is near you. Unfortunately, seen this a couple of times from Mukasa as well but he'll work on that and he does seem to put the effort in when he starts.

Somebody of Ayew's experience, it's just embarrassing.

You thought we looked up for it?

Going to get pelters 'because duh Okoli', but...

The defence did look up for it. No, they are not by any stretch 'good' but there's a definite improvement in the last couple of games (and better this week than last) in terms of effort, minimising good chances from tons of oppo pressure and not capitulating after the first 5 minutes of it.

Second half they were not the main problem. Our midfield and attack being incapable of giving them any respite (let alone a bigger gd to defend) was.

Having just seen Hamza's tackle, potentially one of the most brain-dead fouls I've seen.

Totally a penno, that one.  VAR would have given it.

The blokes a complete idiot and should be no where near the side. Not sure why all these managers we have can't see that he isn't a full back.

Tempting to use the "if we'd had VAR he wouldn't have done it" argument, but it's Choudhury

How is that anything other than a great point? They're going for automatic promotion and we're trying to survive. I get it's pathetic having to admit that, but it's not like we're celebrating an away point against an Oxford, Sheff Weds etc is it..

Good point but were lucky. I wish we’d stop playing like a national league team against a prem team when hanging on to a game. We just have no composure.

also can we stop committing brain dead fouls, so many players guilty of it.

Terrible performance second half, lucky it wasn't about 4 1. Hamza got away with one. I wish these managers would stop pretending he is a right back.

Or indeed a footballer
