Don't think you can criticise their goals, when both ours came from Preston playing shit back passes lol

I mean this is very true.

You don't deserve to win a game of football if you give away two crap goals.

Oh bore off. They gave us two goals aswell. Doesn’t take away from the fact we created enough chances ourselves to win the game outright

We've won one game this year. How on earth are we going to get 4 wins from our last six which is the minimum to stay up.

Honestly after this result I can't see us staying up.

right, which way is the ball going? you can't seriously think that he's taking it in the direction of the corner flag just because he's come from further central to get on the ball.

"Right, I was wrong".

Given the ball ends up running past both players without either of them touching it, Daka isn't 'taking it'' anywhere.

Here's the tackle from the side. I originally said 20 yards out. It's more like double that.

It's just not a 'clear red card'. Not surprised if it's given, not surprised it wasn't

We can't defend which costs us week in week out. We were playing a side who are ****ing rubbish and we're lucky to get a point.

Shouldve gone 1 down inside the first minute. The wing backs were absolutely terrible again. We all know Thomas is useless but Riccy was a shower again.. dithering on the ball again .. there was one time in the first half where he nearly put Preston on the attack again from messing about.

Skipp was all energy but no quality again and Mavididi just huffs and puffs but does nothing. Our set pieces are still crap. We had vesty Nelson and okoli up for a corner and fatawu cleared them all.. ridiculous

Overall we should have won. Skipp should have scored and the ref still shouldve sent off the defender. Daka could've had a hattrick.

We were the better team but for me today was win or bust and I think we've gone. We beat Wednesday and Swansea..  but I can only see defeats to Millwall, portsmouth and Blackburn..  draw against Hull. Will need at least 10 more points and I just dont see it .

Shoot me down, but I struggle to get my head round this. If we need 4 wins, it means other teams need 3. Not sure Portsmouth are getting that (apart from against us 😆, game in hand or not.

How is that not a red card when he would have been through on goal around 30 yards out with no covering defender? Okoli was sent off for doing the same thing on the halfway line v Charlton!

I can see Portsmouth beating us and they play Oxford at home next and I think they win that too.

Dont see us winning 3 games

Proper crap though isn't it. Talking about surviving against Oxford and Portsmouth.  What a fall 🤣

No, it's to get more points than Oxford and Portsmouth

True but we did create more in general play overall. Decent performance, frustrating sure but we have a chance if we can continue that

Oh yeah not denying we should have won based on play in general

Some people in the singing section actually clapped that rubbish off.

Both sides were awful

Only one that deserves a clap today was Daka. He worked his socks off and got his reward.

If Rowett has any sense he’ll take account of how starting with Ayew will go down with the crowd, and the impact that will have on the atmosphere in the ground, and choose somebody else instead.

Today ref was proper crap today. Didn’t give anything. Should have another red when Abdul was fouled, when Skipp had his chance!

yes, you were wrong, unless you're claiming he was going to ignore the ball and continue across the pitch, he was not taking the ball towards the corner flag, he was running in behind and gets fouled to stop the 1 v 1 (see how far away the covering defenders are). If Skipp doesn't get on that, it's definitely denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity. Can argue that playing on is fine as it does break to a Leicester player, and Skipp should have stopped and let it run for the red instead, but it's a deliberate foul to stop Daka being through on goal.

Should’ve won. They’ve scored a goal that was 2mm away from not counting and a looping back post header. We were the better side by far. Have to take our chances. Officials were beyond woeful.

The officials were poor, and we were unlucky with one or two big calls, but I do actually think the referee could make a case for his decision not to give a red. And as others have pointed out, both sides were error prone. Our goals came from mistakes too.

We came very close to nicking it and, given Preston's decision to go defensive, they could hardly have complained if we'd taken the points. But I don't think that our performance truly constituted deserving the win.

I still think that we're not always doing the dirty work in games. And it's frequently our better performers who are culpable. Today Mukasa had a really decent game, but he's averse at times to putting the boot in, closing players down, making it hard for defenders. And it's unfair to single him out because you could say the same about so many others. Fatawu. Mavididi. One minute they'll do it, then the next they won't. It's so undisciplined, and while I appreciate that Rowett has made some improvements, he still hasn't improved this.

So we never truly deserve to win games for me. We never get to dominate because there's a whole half of the game that we tend to neglect.

Tin hat on but it wasn’t a red card. The sending offence offence would have been for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity. The ref played advantage to allow Skipp the goal scoring opportunity as so it wasn’t denied.

The ref played the advantage, allowing us a goal scoring opportunity, that's why.

I mean, it's debatable that Skipp, looking like a competition winner, was ever likely to score, but the fact is he played advantage.

I vainly hoped Skipp might try and lift it over the keeper, but he looked so surprised to be in that position and ****ed it up. I wasn't surprised.

I'm sure I've read the same at the Spurs forum.

I'm not really sure where you get a minimum of four wins from when we're a point adrift tbh.

It's not impossible that we only win won more match and that's enough if you throw in a few draws.

We absolutely can't afford to let Pompey beat us. But other than that it's likely to go down to the wire.

If we win four games remaining we'll be comfortably safe by a distance.

Had we put faith in Daka over Ayew from the start of the season I think we’d probably be around 5 points better off - not monumentally but a better team with him in it. If Ayew started we wouldn’t have scored

Agree with your first point. The difference is generally we haven’t been creating enough chances to offset the amount we give away. Today we did.

You think we were lucky to get a point, I think we were unlucky not to come away with all 3. Is what it is.
