Not keen on extending Begović. Lascelles was simply a disaster.

If Begovic is on low wages (i assume he is) then its not the worst thing to have him as 3rd choice, or maybe even 2nd if we sign a new keeper and sell Stolarczyk (if anyone would want him)

Na. He's 23 and not shown much to suggest he's great. Very likely that one of the other academy lads is just as good/easy to pick up a player of similar quality

That's a lot of younger players offered contracts which is either a sign that they understand we're screwed and will need some of these guys to step up, or they're still living in cuckoo land and want them for the strong under 21 team/hoping to sell for money.

 

The number of big earners leaving is depressingly low. And worse than that, all th major firepower is leaving

We sign the likes of Popov, delay finding good loans for them, famny around, finally see them perform on loan and then release him.

 

There is no commercial acumen at all. The only academy flip we’ve ever done is Sowah - which worked out really well. Instead we lose out more often than not like with Maswanhise, Iversen, Kipre etc.

 

We simply never sell these players for £500k here, £1m there. Dread to think what we spend on wages/fees acquiring Armani Richards/Rakihy/Popov long term only to neither use them at first team level or sell.

 

We have a leaky bucket and just keep filling it. Seagrave could sustain itself if we were just smarter, even discounting big academy sales.

Love how they've highlighted it's 10 first team players. Some are loanees and some only made a handful of first team apps

I doubt he’ll go to Cov, otherwise that will be 3 seasons in English football and 3 relegations for JJ.
