End of the hydration break, start of the 2nd quarter.

Have to break it into quarters for the America audience

It's not just hydration, it's the average Americans attention span

Japan need to push their line 10 yards higher and start being nastier without the ball. Not reckless… just less passive. The longer they sit off, the more this becomes exactly the kind of controlled, low risk game the Dutch would prefer

Am I the only one who had no idea Summerville played for the Dutch?

Assumed he was from some exotic South or central American country.

First time I've been disappointed with a game as I thought it would be decent.

Same here .

Obviously made a big enough impression to get into the team too .

Complete non event. Watching the Dutch knock it around endlessly going nowhere in front of a massed defence is probably indicative of what it will be like watching us under Martin in L1 next season.

So much for a well organized defense.  Japanese defender broke his line and played everyone onside.

Was just going to post this from the BBC which probably summed up the game .

“Virgil van Dijk completed 68 passes in the first half - the most on record (from 1966) by a Netherlands player in a World Cup first half.”

Now influenced it in a more positive way .

I always think players should not chew gum due to choking hazard

I also think spitting should be a yellow card due to it being a biohazard.

I'm not even joking.
