Regardless, we still needed a change. We were never winning a trophy under Southgate and he had unbelievable luck with draws in tournaments and a home tournament with peak Kyle Walker, John Stones, Raheem Sterling etc

The issue he has is this… players not making runs, no coordination. Believe it or not you need that

First couple of tournaments I think people were fairly happy with the fare served uo.

 

The last tournament, in general play we were dire. It had run its course under Southgate.

Southgate couldn’t beat the worst Italian team ever. He is shit, but Tuchel isn’t much better as a national coach.

Honestly I don't disagree at all with this. I don't think GS should've led us into this tournament.

 

The issue I have is the complete trashing of 2018, 2021 and 2024 as if we were complete shit. Maybe we didn't play great football but we got as far as we ever have in years and years, and the assumption from some that the magic key to success was anyone but him was always rocky.
