Sooner out this cup, i'd sooner reach go further in the fa cup and league cup than win this. I get for clubs that never won anything or dont experience wembley much but to go from winning the fa cup in 2021 to this.. just let Peterborough win it.

 

If you offered me a place in the third round of the fa cup and the league cup which resulting in losing all three efl ties i'd take it.

League One (and Two) Teams have to include at least 4 first team players in their match day squad. The match day squad must include 7 home grown players (same as all EFL competitions)

I know everyone has slagged this competition off , understandably so.  But I remember Cov winning this a few years ago, when they were in the 2nd division with very low home gates. They took 40,000 to Wembley & that really re-activated interest in the club & look where they are now.

 

Everybody loves a trip to Wembley & we would take thousands. So, I for one, hope we do well in this

Personally, I would have bitten your arm off.  And probably a leg or two as well.  Fans from other clubs would probably accept that offer given the opportunity.  Many would be frothing at the mouth to get their hands on the Prem trophy or the FA Cup.  We made a glorious bit of sporting history that no other club of a similar size/history has ever got close to.  Of course, I’m disappointed to be where we are now, but we finally appear to be clearing out some of the deadwood.  I’m starting to feel a little bit of optimism for the coming season - particularly if we can sign a half decent number nine.  Cheers

Was it Nathan Jones the manager of luton at the time, who made it clear before kick off he wasnt remotely interested in the competition and subbed 3 players off in the first 3 minutes.

Said it before and i'll say it again, there's no reason why we shouldn't be going for a double with this. It's an extra 5 games in which nobody really takes seriously until the final. As 'tinpot' as this is, after the last few years any wembley cup final day out would be more than welcome

We need some excitement and love back in our stride. It would be great for club and fans to feel like we are headed back up and somewhere given the last few years of shit.

 

Take the positives always and keep pushing for more.

Thankfully we couldn't have played them as the tramps don't even have a cat 1 academy.

I don't think winning the EFL Trophy got their fans re-interested as I'm sure they got relegated the season they won the trophy and attendances dropped more. That I'm not surprised about as they were a complete mess, much worse than our mess, and moved out of the City. They got bought out which helped them but I think Robins was a key part of getting fans back on side, probably similar to Pearson here.

 

Can't disagree about the trip to Wembley, mind.
