In all seriousness, why won't the club go full strength and give the fans a day out at Wembley for their continued support.

Instead they will go all big time and the under 18s will get experience in losing to a Division 1 side to get knocked out

At least it's the southern section so it won't be Forest U21 and Coventry probably won't enter theirs yet. Playing either of their U21 in a competitive game would be the biggest embarrassment in our history, the biggest nothing to gain, everything to lose game we could possibly have.

they have to play a pretty decent strength team I think, sure they introduced some rules.

Whats the lowest attendance at the King Power for a competitive game?

Could be another record for Top and Rudkin

Don't know what you're talking about. There were clearly 25,000 in the ground for the Fulham U21 game as per King Power reporting.

Are clubs allowed to opt out of entering this ?

May be - but we opted out of the past two seasons, so our quota is already taken up for 2026-2027.

Who's to say we get to Wembley at full strength?

Arrogance would catch us out along the way.

I think I'm just sacking this season off, seeing all this in writing is just depressing, nothing against the likes of Stevenage and Walsall and any other club at our level now but ****ing hell.

Winnit on our way down to League 2 and complete the set.

Oh and pray we don't end up playing Rotherham again.

Good god it is shameful that our first team is back in this Mickiest of Mouse cups. This was supposed to be a run-out for our youth players, now the senior squad have to face the ignominy. lol

In a way I kind of want us to win it, not for completion's sake, but purely so we can all boo Top as he tries to parade it around Wembley for the photo opportunity, as if it's any sort of achievement for any club above the level of a Crawley or a Newport.

Buzzing for those EFL nights under the floodlights and the EFL trophy music making my spine tingle with excitement

Ah the EFL Trophy music! I imagine it sounds something like this.

I know Top doesn't have his plane any more but I don't think we'd have needed the tracker app to check if he's flying over for these games

He does. Was just in for repairs. I thought they’d sold it. He flew back from polo season the other day on it

We actually need to win this to complete English football. Other than winning league 2 but they can fck off getting us relegated again the useless tw@ts

Genuine question. Can we refuse to play in it, I know several National League clubs do to there equivalent

I think Sunderland played Newcastle U21s a few years ago.

Sounds like hell to me.

Dreadful competition now. The "honour" of playing reserve sides of clubs whose first team we have beaten in cup finals and to league titles in the past decade or others we have finished below once since 2009.

An embarrassment that they have been allowed to participate, an embarrassment that we are forced to due to ending up here.

Thanks Aiyawatt.
