The holding pushing shoving and shirt pulling. The refs are doing nothing about it. Might as well be watching wrestling. Had we had premier League var I'd have turned it off.

The game is becoming a joke.

Dont think its been too bad in this world cup so far. No surprise to see more grabbling tonight with Arsenal players lol

But it all a card offence and none have been shown for it. After this it won't improve.

Referees in general seem to be letting a lot go. At least it's consistent.

The worst thing is the hydration breaks for ad money. Fvck off.

Didn't think we had seen much of it but probably be worse now when we see two teams hardly wanting to give an edge from anything.

Also the goal celebrations with everyone on the bench on the pitch. All wrong.

Yes should all those players be booked?

Lol I'm from an age before Steve Walsh do you really think he would have put up with it like this is. NO you would have got an elbow or a punch.

It's just ruining games.

A conspiracy theorist might suggest that they're letting more go so as not to add astronmical stoppage time to the end of matches, as they've already got the 3 minutes added on for hydration breaks. It'll be the U.S. TV network cabals.

Not a fan of the hydration breaks obviously - but I do think there has been less delays and stoppages either side of them. I'd be interested to see any 'ball in play' stats compared to the Premier League.

Amazing how many people don't want to watch football anymore yet will still be watching it, and posting on the internet about it, in a years time.

I thought I'd not care for it but I'm absolutely loving it. All the brilliant scenes from Mexico, Paraguay, Norway. All the fans seemingly having the time of their lives. Scotland in Boston, the Dutch with all the Links Rechts stuff. For me, international tournament football is peak football.

And then in between all the memes and good vibes you come across tweets from Romano and that lot.. Spurs paying 85 million for Fernandes, Man City paying 115 million for Anderson. Makes me realise how little I miss club football.

This will age like milk but the refereeing at this tournament has been mainly excellent so far. It’s consistent, VAR use has mainly been good, I can only recall one bad decision (Ecuador not getting a penalty for being kicked in the head).

No that was when Germany scored but yes was a foul either way not given.

I agree generally has been used well and infrequently.

I had actually planned on boycotting this WC, until someone pointed out that I was letting Trump take away something that I would normally watch and enjoy.

And for the most part, I have enjoyed this WC.

That could all change shortly though lol

Just shows how the Prem use VAR to how they see fit and bend it probably through back handers or gambling corruption, it's not consistent at all in the Prem.

In this World cup it has been used how it should be tbh (rarely).
