What’s Next?

Monga is expected to finalize his move and could feature in pre-season preparations. Fans are buzzing about the signing, with many calling it a “statement” from City in the transfer market.

I'm not buzzing

If that statement is " we will buy a number of young players for the academy, see how they develop before either playing them or selling them" this seems bang on.

I’m 100% convinced he’ll go on to have a great career, £10m + sell on clause isn’t a bad deal for us, and actually shows there is money to be made from the academy. We just need to get everything else sorted surrounding it!

I do hope he goes on and has a decent career. Especially if we have decent sell on clauses.

I do get the feeling that he'll disappear into nothing, either end up in lower leagues or drop out of football altogether, like many wonder kids have done this over the years.

Agree with a lot of the recent posters. He's so young no one can really predict how he and his career will develop.

May become a really good player, but could also end up playing in the Belgium 2nd Division by his mid 20s and National League by 30.

This move is good for his bank balance but not convinced it will be good for his long term career. He may just disappear amongst all the other "good prospects".

Therefore as much as I dislike our current regime, and if the fee is anywhere near being correct, then may turn out to be a good deal. Also we havent got much other choice at this time.

Good luck to the lad I suppose.

Mongadidi.  Who will take his place in the stand still and step over challenge.

To me it felt like the players were left to their own devices by the coaches and managers. He will learn so much once he is in a system with an actual clue, standards, discipline and equally good team mates where he doesn’t instantly stand out.

Now it’s up to him to decide if he wants to develop and be a team player who uses his skills to get out of trouble or be like the recent batch of greedy wingers in this country who stand still, try and take everyone on at the expense of a simple pass, quick run or cross.

Has the potential but as above I think Page is the one we really need to try and hang on to.

Hutchinson is our future superstar imo, we simply have to be in a better position when he breaks through or he’ll be gone aswell

Arsenal seemingly taking an age to get Monga, and then Man City swoop in

McCarron will no doubt be behind that surely?? Probably to get the price up and it’s worked

We need the money and I’d say £10m plus add ons “if true” ain’t bad for us at all in the circumstances, and a steal for Man City considering how much we could have got for Monga not to long ago. Wether he pans out is by the by, talent cost a lot these days, £10 million for the potential Monga harbours is nothing for M City.

Effectively

have to say, the player’s family have been very fair to us

Probably why barely any appearances, why would a manager want to bed a player in who is gone next summer.

For the here and now it’s a good deal and suits us, but potentially he could be a £50/£60m player. Only time will tell obviously.

City have a history of selling their youth for high profit so the best we can hope for is that he endss up going for big money.

We had no chance of keeping him with our regime and position

If you think you can stop us from being relegated to league 1 for the second time in our history, you don’t do that. Especially not a manager who also wouldn’t be here 😂

Because ne might have done more to help us avoid relegation than Mavididi.
