Couple of alright short spells for Belgium,  but they never really offered much to threaten the Spanish goal.

Holds onto the ball too long. Tries too hard. He'll be unplayable in a couple of years when he grows up a bit.

At 1-1 he turned his defender on the right wing and could have got a decent shot away with his right but then tried to turn back on the left and the defender recovered. Odd decision making.

So onto tonight 

 

despite the ballsy nature of Sunday nights performance in Mexico City, they didn’t convince me from a football playing perspective 

whether we could have controlled the game last half hour with eleven players is obvs unanswerable 

 

norway had 66% possession v Brazil.  That was a hot evening and tonight will be the same.  Brazil screwed up by bringing on neymar after they went behind. That effectively meant them playing with ten men without the ball. Norway completely controlled possession after he was subbed on.  If we want to win tonight then we have to be brave with the ball - something we decided to ditch against Mexico (and had little option once we went to ten) 

 

we absolutely should win tonight but nothing I’ve seen over the 5 games so far makes me confident we will
