Out come the sharks, charlatans and fantasists.

Does anyone else find it annoying when you see people talking about buying a football club but that it then has to be profitable? Yeah, good luck with that. Some of the world's most successful businessmen in other aspects of life have already invested in football clubs and not managed to turn a profit. Unless you are willing to lose tens of millions of pounds a year for a club like us to get to the Premier League then why even talk? He seems the type of ''Investor'' who will want to buy it for a pound and then only spend the money the club earns as it treads water or goes further down the league. None of it is sustainable, football in it's current form isn't. If the club could run and get back to the Premier League with it's own profits then what do we need you for? What purpose do you serve? There is literally no point in having an owner, it may just as well be fan run then and don't give me the ''we can market the club in India bollocks'' you can't tell me we don't have people within our own support that are more than capable and probably way more capable than he is of marketing the club to the Indian market. He clearly doesn't have the money and will probably use the look at me on Talksport to try and have whip-round.

Our only real chance is some billionaire. The Middle Eastern investors are pulling their investments from things like golf at the moment and due to the situation in the Middle East it isn't the best time to get an Arab Sheikh. American? A possibility and could work as long as they don't do a debt finance special and try to use the Stadium and Training ground as assets to borrow against to finance the purchase price.

We need another Leicester miracle here my fellow foxes.

I agree with some of what he's saying particularly about the poor management of the club currently and the need to address this, potential for greater community engagement, and the marketing potential to drive revenue in a fast developing country with the largest population on earth, however there's a number of red flags.

He kept referring to making the club profitable to drive success, yet there are very few examples of clubs who are both profitable and successful. We all know football is now a vanity project for anyone with extreme wealth and you don't enter into it unless you are willing to lose considerable amounts of money. It raises questions in relation to his backers. Are they wealthy and very naive in thinking they can buck the trend of spend equating to success, or is it a case that they aren't as wealthy as he suggests?

Another concern for me coupled with the above, is his comments about the academy being seen as a means to generate revenue. Whilst I appreciate that should never be overlooked and more often than not any homegrown talent that shows significant potential will eventually get picked off by the big big boys thereby generating a tidy profit under the financial framework that has been introduced, I wouldn't want to see the club operating under a model where every emerging talent is sold before we see any benefit on the pitch from their development. If the players coming in are cheap buys to maintain a profitable position, we need to utilise the best academy products to propel the club forwards.

Finally, his suggestion of having a mastermind group of former players to help with player identification scares the cr*p out of me. Clearly he's never met any of our former players. With the greatest respect to the big man, imagine asking someone like Matt Elliott for his opinion on whether to sign a player or not. Would be an absolute car crash.

There's no reason why you can't do both as if you're successful with the Academy you don't need or want them all in the Squad some would be duplicate positions etc

As for former players, yeah not keen but there are or must be dome that could suss out who's got the right attitude even Elliott released from the KP chains might give us a totally different view of the players.

Yes and no.

Administration would mean points deduction, that is the bit I'm worried about and with our woeful start I don't think we'd have the fight to get those points back then it'll be league 2!!

But yes, you are right in the sense that taking it out of Tops hands is the best idea, the points deduction is the biggest thing.

I don't want to sink lower

12 points isn't it.

We have 2 years left of parachute payments so absolute worst outcome that any reasonable FD should be planning for is broadly sustainable league one club aside from any debt interest payments.

As long as Top wants to protective his investment rather than wash his hands with us I don’t see administration as an outcome.

This guy is saying that the club is effectively worthless because of the debt.  Sounds like he either wants us to go into administration and buy us debt free after that or make an offer to the debt holders.

I just can’t see this being Tops best offer

We have exhausted the future parachute payments, it all goes to Macquarie. Any prospective new owner has got to factor in propping this club up for a few years and the figures will be pretty grim.

£100m purchase is probably on the north side of taking on such financial investment and risk.

I wonder what it would go for in administration, the stadium and training ground are a separate legal entity to the football club ownership so could be in a situation where the club itself would be a nominal fee to buy + confirmation of tens and tens of millions to run us and then the prospect of trying to buy the assets or rent them. Could and would potentially be very messy.

The common sense approach would be £100m take it or leave it.

I do wonder what the early repayment terms are for the Macquarie loans - no investor in their right minds would take on the debt at 8-9% interest and leave it running, but the repayment terms will be a big factor in how much will be needed to clear that debt.

No way we are worth £100m at the moment given how much expensive debt we are servicing just top keep the lights on....

Parachute payments gone after this season and the cash from them has already been used via the Australian bank.

The wage to turnover for this League 1 season is going to be absolutely horrific. Our squad still looks too bloated and far too many players on wages way over the norm for third tier football

This is the easy part there is also now the IFR license which on the face of it seems a more onerous review. Interesting I have done a review of Mr Lals business record, companies he owns, where he has been a Director. Not sure he would pass either the EFL or IFR review unless he and his consortium can deposit well north of 50 million in cash on top of showing the ability to cover/service debt and pay the purchase fees. Not holding my breath.

I think you will find that most of the second parachute is now spent we are probably using transfer income to run the day to day financing.

This loser will not be buying us.

I thought the same. This bloke comes across as an absolute bull shit artist, hope there’s more interested as all I can see is this bloke providing more fuel to the “be careful what you wish for” brigade.

The vast majority of people living in the southeast of England with a very small or no mortgage have more assets than Lal !

if king power sell to him then they are totally desperate (and unlikely to get whatever amount they agree)

But he told the interviewer that he went to a Billionaire party once! Surely that satisfies the Source and Sufficiency of Funding test?

Also, I believe he might have mentioned that he's in it "for the long term", and he "respects the family".

Leicester Football Club 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

This is mildly annoying, but this Neil Lal fella is clearly so much more of a leader and businessman than Aiyawatt. You just have to listen to him for 10 mins to realise that

I'd be more worried about a couple of hundred job losses rather than a 12 point deduction. Some people seem to forget the human side of this.

Of course but this was in reply to being better off positionally and financially as a football club

Which is why I’d be very weary throwing around the administration word without foundation.

He's obviously trying to position himself as a credible owner. I found him pretty measured and he made some good points about running us sustainably. At least he sounds like a grown up and not a spoilt child like Top. But ultimately, if his personal wealth really is around £2m, that's nowhere near enough so key thing is who these other investors actually are and whether they've got the finances to back it up. We're also not 'Leicester Football Club' pal.

He's just a British based spokesman for the currently unnamed Indian multi million / billionaires who are actually interested.

He's interested in Leicester the same way Stavaley was interested in Newcastle.

He’s only 1 or 4 so he says in this Barratt consortium. Hopefully the others have more personal wealth, and you’d think they would have if they are wealthy Indian businessman

I've always taken a hard harsh line on this, there's at least a 100 people employed by us who have been for far too long, have been promoted well above their means and need to be gotten rid of so we can function properly.

If I took anything good out of that car crash video it's that he'd likely bring that to fruition.

I agree . Some have been very comfortable in doing very little but the club reward the wrong people ..

That's why we are in this mess

As soon as Neil Lal said they were circumventing citigroup and going direct to leicester, I knew this man is a complete chancer.

Citi will have absolutely signed a contract of exclusivity with leicester and will sue the absolute living daylights out of King Power if they do a deal outside of their agreement.

Neil Lal, stay away from Leicester CITY Football Club.

Staveley had excellent connections across the industry and in the gulf

is there any evidence that Lal is anything more than a modern day Michael Knighton ?
