 Hey all,

I think the majority of us have not paid too much attention to league 1. But as we get close to the season and the optimism grows I’m curious who the league rivals are likely to be.

Sheffield Wednesday seem to be the obvious challengers but who do we think are going to be the other clubs to challenge us?

I have a feeling huddersfield will be the other club fighting for autos but Bradford, luton and Plymouth certainly all capable.

any dark horses having a good summer?

Oxford look to be in a spot of bother  so I’m not expecting them to push us.

Hard to say, only team I watched a lot last year was Huddersfield because of Alves.

Also have to see who does what business.

End of season form can point towards who might be pushing. So maybe luton and blackoool have something good happening IMG_3820.thumb.jpeg.1d7df2dadde0b7a0fbc01777aa78c915.jpeg

And people say there's no glamour in this league lol

Rate anyone else? How do we even rate ourselves?

We have a bunch of centre backs that don't want to be at the club, which is a fatal problem regardless of what level they've played at before.

We have a midfield that's almost entirely going to be made up of untested kids that haven't proven anything except, maybe, if we're being very generous, Braybrooke at the level below.

We literally don't have a senior striker on the books and the kid the fanbase is putting the pressure of Messiahdom on was looking (before the latest clusterf*ck) destined to quietly slip out of the door one June 30th in the future and go sign for Boston United.

Throw in a reject goalkeeper close to retirement, a sulking left winger who hasn't had a run of good games in the last two seasons and a £25m paperweight.

Then have them all be organised by a an ideological zealot of a head coach with a terrifying record of starting slowly, if at all, and enough hubris to make Brendan Rodgers look Mr. Rodgers.

We are in no position at all to be "rating" the competition.

I mean there’s often times where you can see the club are in the mud, this preseason hasn’t been one of those for me. We need some pieces added in, but we’ve also got a while before the window shuts.

Apart from that, are you fairly positive about it?

Of the teams in this division we faced last season, we played five games, we won one (Sheff Weds H), we drew two (Sheff Weds A, Oxford A), lost one (Oxford H) and lost one on pens (Huddersfield A).

I'm not underestimating these sides at this point. We've been implausibly rubbish for four years. We'd have baulked at the idea a year ago that we could finish below Millwall, let alone be already relegated and denying them a win that would've gotten them promoted by the time we played them. When there is a way to fail, under this owner, they usually find it.

This league is terrible. I expect 46 wins over 100 goals and less than 5 conceded also winning the EFL Trophy

Sadly, I have to agree.

Got the target on our back to be the big scalp to start with. Teams will step up against us for sure. That is unless we come out the traps like we have the last 4 years and basically roll over.

If we are outside the top 6 by October, we are just any other team to everyone in the league.

Pressure is on us, no one else.

There’s **** all good about this league….. the only thing that’s remotely worth even getting slightly interested in, is we will hopefully see a load of our academy players on show. Other than that, the best part of this league is once the last final whistle has gone.
