Strange game, scored 2 cracking goals but overall I still wasn't too impressed with him. Gave the ball away alot and his crosses rarely found a city player.

Hopefully gives him some confidence. Still think tonight highlights just how far ahead Alves is

Think he’s just showing that he’s still young and raw. Has got something but seems better when he’s pushed inside or left unmarked outside the box. With a good defender tracking him down he beats them for pace but they catch up before he makes the right decision so it invariably goes out for a corner. And we don’t often score from those. Two good goals tonight might help his confidence.

Can we try to not forget Saturday before we heap praise on him for scoring against Fulham Under 21s (where all of the decent players are playing internationals).

Can we try and be positive now and again lol

His technique of striking the ball is so bizarre. That goal he scored for Sunderland at Wembley was a genuine miracle lol

But also worth bearing in mind he's young enough to have been lining up for that Fulham side last night.

He’s shite. Not good enough to be paid to play football.

Making football complicated against one of the worst sides we’ve played for a very long time. Every shot bar a couple was with their defence in situ, very rarely got behind them by having second or third runners

Can't quite believe that he's made it this far in professional football without having the ability to make the correct decisions or execute what he's trying to do (manifested by not getting his shots off) in games.

I'm sure he's brilliant in training. But get him in a real match situation, where he faces pressure from the opposition and has less time, he is incapable.

Seen it so many times. Usually, guys like him get released way before this stage.

Grasped the opportunity to be on the bench on Saturday with two strong hands last night. Aimless balls into the box, weak shooting and didn’t worry his full back with any kind of aggressive take-ons. Alves guaranteed a start against the Posh.

Surely the scouts are just as culpable for all of this as the others. How can they  watch some of these players and think they are the answer?

The way this club has been run in the last few years, the scouts have been absolutely appalling. How they can look at the likes of Ayew, carranza and Bobby DR and think these are goal scoring machines I’ll never know. We know vardy would take a long time to replace and he still hasn’t, but to give Ayew the number 9 was one of many two fingers the club has put up to the fans in the last few seasons..

but back to the original topic, I don’t rate Watson at all. He’s weak and his shot power is non existent unless it’s against a bunch of school kids.. sack him off

Scouts must be the name of the coffee shop in Brighton that Russell met the players he wanted to sign at
