That's McCarthy as a bench warming third choice keeper for the next season or three then!

 The post above yours literally talks about Vieites having left lol

Russell clearly loves him from that video they’ve put up. Wonder if he’s a great person to have around signing? Saw Blackpool fan comment he was always smiling. Hopefully trains well and pushes jakub and mccarthy to be better and always on it.

Lol, indeed - since amended/edited! My  post was originally done because A : I didn't realise we'd signed this new goalkeeper from Blackpool until turning on Foxes Talk half an hour ago and B : I only saw slightly further up the thread after I'd posted, then suddenly realised that Vieties had just left on Friday. Little did I know! What a waste of time signing him was then, we probably would've played him more last season had Cifuentes not brought his old QPR pal in re Begovic.

I get that this is a common thing in top level football these days with the third choice keeper role, but it will always seem very stupid if you're on a tight budget. You've got Stolarcyk as first choice, a bloke old enough to remember the battle of Stamford bridge as second choice. If both are injured then you can do an emergency loan, or play the U21s keeper (French?), assuming you're sending Bausor out on loan. Signing another senior keeper with the intent of him never playing makes no sense when you can barely afford your existing wage bill.

Unless we're selling Stolarczyk.

I guess if you think of your career as being a training goalkeeper and your main job is showing up to training every day and testing out your mates, whilst being comfortably paid... it's ****ing incredible career lol

Best job in the world tbqh

46 games 37 conceded in League One. So unless he wasn't facing any shots i'd assume so :P

He’s a very good shot stopper Peacock-Farrell was no 1 at Blackpool who kept him out I think he’ll be our main goalkeeper

He’s definitely a 2nd or even 3rd choice. He’s 29 and has played 99 games (According to the LCFC website, a debatably even worse source than Wikipedia).

He'll love training at Seagrave. Hotel, spa, a touch of golf when he feels like it.

The majority of blackpool fans online say he is poor.  Surely Martin isn't going to play him.

We are signing players that blackpool fans judge as poor ..
