Admir Bristric signs 4 year contract

He looks alright, I like his hold-up play, which is actual hold up play as opposed to whatever the hell Ayew did when he got on the ball. I'm of the view that once he bags he'll grow into the role. 

For what it's worth, we look most creative when Braybrooke, Alves and Adnan are all on the pitch together, so I'm hoping and praying that's what we start with on Tuesday. Once he bags one I'm hoping he'll grow into the role. Not that it's right to make the comparison this early on, but even at his peak Vardy was a streaky player who could go weeks, months without a goal then suddenly start bagging every week. So I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

His run for the Souttar ball through to Sammy was really smart shame it looked like Sammy half scuffed his shot. The goals will come from Bristric

I think he’s going to be a bit of a cult hero. Leicester City fans have always loved a nut case and he fits the bill, but, for the love of God can we give the poor lad some service.

No. 3 or 4 bits of good link play where he held up and played runners in. snatched at 2 chances but when one goes in he will be away

The guy’s only been in the country three weeks and playing for a club whose even own fans realise don’t create many chances. Give him a chance - figuratively and literally!

Bit of a mixed bag really, couple of good bits of link up and hold up play, couple of times he showed a poor technique and wasn’t strong enough. Fair play though he kept going and makes some really good runs I thought we should’ve picked out. Probably our second choice striker now which may/may not benefit him.

I think Riis coming in will help him massively! 
Riis I’d imagine will start most of the games and then Bristric to come on 65-70 when the games more open!

He actually was, just not for us. He otherwise had a decent career at championship level.

Yep, Kermorgant was a classic bit of Steve Walsh scouting. Picked up for a pittance from Ligue 2 and went on to score 80 (+32 assists) goals in about 200 nineties in English football.

Without the penalty in the playoffs I think he would have had a good career here.

In hindsight probably best he did - we don’t go on to win the league if he scores that. Besides, Waghorn still missed (?).

Yep he was absolutely fantastic for Charlton. They absolutely love him there. You could see he had technical ability in his shirt time with us, but he was never going to recover from that penalty.

True, he seemed to get less stick about it, I think Kermorgant got it because he was French and it wasn't a normal technique for the time.

It's still not a normal technique now If Waghorn had done the same silly chip he'd have got it in the neck too and not because he's a Mackem.

 

One thing about Bristric is he's going to need longer than half a game at a time to get up to speed too. I've not idea why Martin took him off so early the other night. We lost a focal point, swapped him with the anonymous Cullen and nearly gave Plymouth a way back in. It was only McCarthy's reflexes that kept us comfortable. Be interesting to see how many mins he gets with Riis around.

Not his fault, but concerning that he's already gone 6 games without a goal at the start of his career here. More crap management from Martin to hook him from games after 55 mins as whilst he's not had loads of minutes without a goal, it now looks like he's started terribly and will likely heap more pressure on him.

In terms of minutes played it adds up to less than three games and I don’t think any striker has scored for us since Ayew against Sheff Weds in early April have they? 
 

Any new player needs to be given time, especially one that’s never played in the country before. It took Vardy a year to get up to Champ standard (and no he’s not as good as Vardy).

How many chances has he been provided with and missed poorly? I'm struggling to think of many...

I think the only one is a bobbled cross from the left that he tried to control instead of hitting first time. Been really starved of chances IMO.

That is the same for Riis. This isn't a striker issue, as I think Bristric has something about him. But the formation is so isolating for the striker, it's a thankless task. Midfield are not helping enough nor are we creating space for the strikers to do what they need to. 

 

That is why strikers are hard to come by now, what is the point when you're completely isolated. Whereas a winger/ACM hasore.of the ball and licence to attack.
