I cant afford tickets at the prices they are for my family for a few reasons, but if that is a grade A fixture at 47 notes a ticket, I cant see us getting an attendance that high again this season if we continue playing like this.

We have some lovely little players, don’t we? Braybrooke (although lost the ball too often today), Alves, Watson, Howell, Page. All look really good players, far too good for this level yet the issue with all of them except Page is they’re so lightweight. Clearly they need a bit of physicality and height around them.

 

The squad is hopelessly in balanced for a start. 

Add to that the rotten, confidence devoid wasters like Skipp, Thomas, Okoli and Bobby DR. 

 

Add to that a goalkeeper who has played about 20 games in 5 seasons and thinks his Manager’s instruction of ‘play it short where you can’ seems to include even doing so to a player who is marked and / or facing his own goal and is incapable of playing out from the back.

 

Add to that a Manager who believes so fiercely in a style of play that means you keep possession against ten men so dominantly, yet only create one meaningful chance in an hour of football (Watson dragged shot wide) .

A Manager who cannot see Luke Thomas is the most pathetic wimp of a footballer you’re ever likely to see ( ended up inverted full back LOL). WHY IS HE PICKING HIM

A Manager who took off the only tall physical threat we had on the pitch up front and replaced him with a dwarf who ain’t even a striker. 
 

It’s going to get worse before it gets better.

Our system is square pegs in round holes. All the right things are being said and envisioned but we have a keeper and 2 centre halves that cannot play out from the back and instantly put ourselves under pressure. Issue number 1.
 

One of our full backs isn’t good enough to play in this system. Issue number 2.

 

When we finally get into a decent position, the ball gets played backward when there’s someone in the box. Issue number 3. 

 

When we get into decent position but there’s no one in the box, the ball gets crossed into the box. Issue number 4. 
 

When we get into decent position and there’s no one in the box, there’s also no willing runners to want to try and get into the box. Issue number 5. 
 

We don’t have one player that’s up for a physical battle. Issue number 6. 
 

Any player that feels like they can handle the physical battle, gets bullied. Issue number 7. 
 

Every team that comes here is going to sit in, knowing that we’re probably not going to be able to break them down due to zero focal point and 100% predictability, making us so easy to defend against. Issue number 8.

That said, I really despise the whole hierarchy of this shambles of a football club. Why? Why can't they admit their failures and do something different, decisive to change our trajectory. Do they simply not care?

I'm all but done with our club. Entirely down to thr owners and the board. The players have a lot to answer for but they're hardly being motivated by the negativity from the top and the disaster of appointing Martin following the disaster of RVN and Cooper. 

It feels like nobody on the playing or coaching staff knows what they're doing. No focus, no positive tactics. No communication. Russell has drained any positivity or understanding of how we need to play regardless of whether the players can play his system.

He won't change. There's a reason why Rangers and Southampton binned him. 

As long as he's here, we're never going anywhere.

I do wonder if something was up today. In the warm up, our players came out very late and Burton had been out for 10 mins before we emerged. When we did, it was just the starting 10 (gk had been out for a while) plus Page. The subs nowhere to be seen for another 10 mins. 
 

Warmup very lackluster. No communication between players. No camaraderie. Shooting terrible. We’ve watched a lot of warmups, and that was one of the worst. 
 

My spidey senses telling me there could have been a lot going on behind the scenes today, and maybe all not well.

I agree with what your saying...but we are not playing to their strengths are we, this slow lethargic 80 passes between defenders is not suited to majority of the team,  it killed daka, it killed Vards. It will kill sammy, it will kill all of them, they will get demotivated and soon they will all want out as well. 

Even The manager said today, when asked why the bosnian was subbed off but we started flinging balls into the box.

He said well him scoring headers is not his game anyway, he is about pace and power!  

When in martins butthole his he going to be able to utilise those attributes playing this ridiculous style?
