Same with starting Bristric imo, should have benched him midweek and started him here.

Made more sense to play him just to get him up to speed, but madness he's not starting

Alves created our only 2 league goals, been our best player so far and he couldn't wait to drop him.

That said, we are strongest in the LW and RW positions with 4 genuinely decent players.

At least he's dropped Cullen as well but Reid up top I just cannot fathom. Bristric needs to be played in to form and confidence.

I realise options are limited, but what a team selection 🤨

It is very hard to see where a win is going to come from this season.

There are definitely some bizarre selections in that XI but it really should have enough to beat MK Dons — the manager has nowhere to hide if we're winless after 3 league games with what he's got

Can’t wait to log back in later after a 2-0 defeat

To drop Alves is beyond words, our most creative output so far this season

Disgraceful

Might it be a case we’ve guaranteed first XI status to Brighton in order to get Watson in and that forces our hand a little?

Positives in that line up: Martin is admitting McCarthy and Cullen (could have played him up front) have been shit.

Souttar starts again - I think Russell really wants to keep him. Will he do better right of centre (I should bloody hope so!)?

Possible issue: We have zero natural central midfield cover. I guess Howell / Cullen would be the options if needed?

The MK Dons channel is absolutely ripping Martin!

Calling him a liar and the same things we are saying with playing out from the back when it wasn't working

Stolarcryk over McCarthy in terms of the options we have - good

Defence - McFarlane in good. Thomas not but I understand why he wouldn’t throw Kangasniemi in so soon.

Midfield - probably about what we’d go for no? Page in good. We’ll see how the Chaplin/Burns partnership is. Alves for Watson questionable but at least Watson is a player we are happy to see. This feels more like options that will be rotated. No Cullen is good.

Forward, the worst and most preventable part, Reid. Not that we know much about Bristvic yet but at least he’s a striker. Obviously anger can’t play every game so the solution is simple, get another striker in, even on loan. Perhaps this is the message Martin is trying to make?

Reid actually popped up with some decent goals in the winter last season. Obviously I’d rather move him on but even if we hadn’t signed Cullen and had Reid to compete with Chaplin and Howell/Alves, I’d be ok with that.

The main issue is that we have wasted money on Cullen, a nothing player in a position we were stocked with. Had we spent that on bringing another striker in (towards that cost), we’d have a much better balance. And yet those who said anything against the Cullen transfer were shouted down as normal.

A lot of bed wetting going in right now. Maybe the players left out need a rest

Nothing like an alternate view just for the sake of exactly that 😂

Like Thomas to be the best player on the pitch today and score the winner. You heard it here first!

Stolarczyk and McCarthy are much the same for me so don’t really care who starts

Great to see JJ starting and McFarlane

Thomas playing centre back is annoying but I can understand it if Aluko isn’t 100% and the new guy has barely trained with us

Page and Braybrooke should’ve been in together from the start of the season so good to see it now and hopefully if Page stays those two with Chaplin will be our constant middle 3

Burns I don’t mind as I expect Howell’s fitness isn’t up to him starting every game yet

Alves not starting is harsh

Bobby Reid - wtf.

This is the biggest postive we have seen so far along with Joesph and Alves, those 3 midfielders should be a cert for the season.

And last probably

If I told you in 2021 that within 5 years we would be in League One with a 33 year old Bobby Decordova-Reid as our striker, you'd think I was mad and rightly so.
