Our first big Dane.

Welcome to the club, Emil!

One goal every four games is a bit concerning. Let‘s hope he finds his scoring boots again.

Again?

I wonder if we will ever return to the model of buying young, hungry players on the way up, with potential resale value rather than proven mediocrity.

Someone posted £2.5-£3m

Nice work if so from Bristol, got him on a free and subsidised some of the cost for a younger striker.

He sounds prolific.  In a similar way that Harper Lee was prolific

This ''someone'' plucked a figure out the air and you ran with it? You mean.

4 years is probably why he joined us and not a championship club

No the reason he ain’t joined a championship club is because he is below the level required

I bet you said similar when Carranza signed.

You probably jumped up and down when Ayew signed.

Relevant? Just out of curiosity, with your in depth knowledge of our financial situation regarding percentage of salary available to spend to satisfy SCP rules, who would you have signed instead and why?

His last spell with Brizzle was very underwhelming.

Scored 12 for PNE in the season prior, in the Championship.

I expect 15 goals or so this season.

You have misrepresented my post here since I wasn't replying to that one.  Poor form Tommy G

The irony of challenging other peoples depth of knowledge regarding our financial situation, but happy to make assumptions on contracts based on? Working for the club I presume

Top goalscorer at his former club would suggest otherwise.

Not the case. Bristol fans surprised he's dropping to League One, was their top scorer last season. Couple championship clubs were after him too.

Very few if any signings made at League One level are going to be made with an eye on the Prem

You'd have thought this was obvious but it seems that the whiners don't see it that way.

So you don't reply to the post you're quoting? I literally quoted you on your reply regarding the fee. Enlighten me

People can say 4 years is fine but Bristol City only gave him a 3 year deal a year ago. We really rate ourselves on every transfer that they aren't going to possibly fail, despite the majority of them doing so.

I think he'll be fine for this level and mid Champ but signings like this will never see us return to the PL, a tough task anyway I know.

Our transfer success rate is about 20%, slightly less arguably.

Even back to back promotion take us 2 season to get back to the PL.

Which unlikely, I'd he will be lucky to be here by the time we get back

I'm talking about a profile of player as you well know.  A model and direction of recruitment.  A strategy that we used to adopt and excel at once upon a time.

Perhaps such players  for our level and at a similar price don't exist but I highly doubt it.
