It’s baffling. You can be pragmatic and look long when the press is on or there’s not much on without abandoning the overall principles of drawing a press and playing through the lines. 
He clearly just won’t have it at all though and you have plodders like O’Hora coughing up passes every week leading to clear chances. How can he not see it.

Doyle looks like Poundland Page, really reminding me of him the way he carries the ball and his movement, just not as good. Have to say as a like for like back up he does look like he could play the role Page does decently enough

Watching the goals over. Fulham's defence are comical. The fact we had a dog shit touch and still got the ball in for Bristric.

 

U21 teams really are just filler for the one or 2 players that will actually make it in the football league. It's sad to watch them see their hopes get mushed. 

 

On the plus side we're winning for a change.

But some positives from that first half. I know it's only the Fulham kids but Bristic getting 3 and Watson getting 2 after both had looked off it recently is good.

 

And to be fair, the team looks like they're taking the game seriously and constantly trying to score. There's plenty of running and effort, even if it's a daft mickey mouse trophy game.

We shouldnt get too carried away, fulham look like my sons u15's team.

Except the problem there is if you're a player instead of playing pass 236 back to someone else in the backline and instead decide 2 or 3 times a match to pump it long or, brace yourself, put it straight out, you'll probably find yourself ostracised and dropped from the team for not playing the way the manager wants.

You can't make the argument "We didn't concede when I kicked it long" because you surrendered possession and his whole thing is about keeping it, where in Martins mind you'd have kept the ball and everything would have worked out.  Conceding by playing "his way" is probably better than not conceding but giving the ball away, even if it's long into the opponents corner.
