Whilst, historically the 'big' club have also 'bought' their success, Man City's recent success is a little different is it not? They've absolutely dominated since 2009

Shouldnt we be above tottenham... premier league and fa cup. Infact Tottenham are joint with Villa, Newcastle, Swansea, Wigan, Birmingham, Crystal Palace, West Ham.

People's hearts won't be in it though. I love sport but truth be told, I would put up with no other sport what I do with football. I'd have lost interest a long while ago. With football it's tribal. Despite how angry, disillusioned and apathetic I get about the game and my club, I remain trapped and obsessed. Horrible sport.

I suppose as an older bloke it is natural to get jaded and cynical to some extent. Even allowing for that doesn't explain how horribly unlikable and overblown so called elite football has become. As you say we are obsessed with our club for better or worse. I fell in love with the game in the 60s. Not perfect as many grounds were very dated even then and pitches were mud baths from November. There was though a simple beauty about the sport not yet ruined by greed.

The atmosphere on entering the ground no matter the size of the crowd always hit me face on I can't describe it but over the years it faded as the stadium changed and the fans changed until it completely disappeared at the Walkers,  for me it was never the same again even on the big nights it was different.

Man City deserve punishing, the game needs reforming. Booting them out solves one issue but we will still hear complaining about restrictions and clubs not being able to spend even if Man City are long gone.

The PL will never do anything which restricts the ability of Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool along with Chelsea to compete and win in Europe the more of those that qualify the greater the kudos and £s seep back into the PL.

Clubs like Leicester as part of the 'other 14'  have been complicate in allowing this to happen we even voted for those clubs to get a bigger share of the international revenues when it used to be split evenly across the 20 clubs.

Those 3, 4, 5 6 clubs only have to promise a few extra pounds and the 14 along with the EFL just close their eyes and ears grab the offerings and run and then spend the time when they're enjoying a successful period complaining  about how unfair it all is.

You’re right. They will get a poxy deduction at the end of the season, but it won’t relegate them.

So they've appealed as expected and they are lashing out left and rigut and threating law suits and stuff, but how long is this appeal gonna take to come through? It on the speedier lane like the others for Everton and such were or we still working off the old system where it takes fecking years?

The last 2 appeals were between 6 weeks and 3 months, then I read they have 30 days to decide what the next move is, so 4 months effectively.

No idea if this could drag out but surely it has to be settled this season, what if they win more silverware this season, or the club finishing just below them not qualifying for a european spot?

I have a horrible feeling this will drag out to March or April.  Man City will win FA Cup and League Cup, then get a 100 point deduction and be relegated. They'll take the hit financially that comes with relegation but retain some players, maybe loan a couple out.  They'll win the Championship at a canter, return to the Premier League for the 2028/29 season and immediately qualify for the 29/30 Champions League and in a blink of an eye, it's done and dusted and it's as you were.  A mere blip in their history that will be forgotten about before the next World Cup.

The beginning of the end for Burnham already,  stinks of some dodgy dealings from the mayor of Manchester given the blackmailing already starting.

How can getting £800M + off of a state UAE to buy players be allowable by the PL rules.

I just can't fathom how that can be justified apart from making a mockery of any attempt to creative a competitive league doesn't it allow foreign states the power to dictate the running of the league which is apparently what's happening with Man City

This happened because the established big boys, the teams in red, didnt want a fair set of financial rules, they insisted revenue/income was a key factor.  Which just opens the door to revenue manipulation.

It should either be no FFP/PSR or whatever it gets called next, or a fixed cap that only takes account of debt, unpaid bills not revenue.

Don’t get me wrong our situation is an absolute disgrace but part of me is glad we’ve fallen so far we’re sort of out of the way of it all now.

Just let me focus on getting rattled by Burton Albion

Probably a £20 million fine, seems a lot, but pocket money to the Quatar

A fine is pointless for Man city its only points and relegation that will affect them.

also without a doubt everyone that lost out on europe etc like ourselves should be fairly compensated. Blue tinted specs here but imagine we agreed a out of court settlement with Man City for £100+ million, that positive bank balance likely fires your back into the prem.

The biggest difference for me is outside the ground.

I used to go a lot when I was younger and it was singing all the way down Eastern Boulevard, Raw Dykes Road, Burnmoor Street - different pockets of fans starting on the side streets and joining up towards the ground. There'd be hundreds singing, people knew the words, making noise.

It was around the time of the move to the new stadium that I started to notice more old people and families - but not 'our' type of families - who'd be giving looks and not getting involved. Previously wearing a visible scarf or shirt wasn't something you'd do until there was safety in numbers, suddenly there were people wandering about decked out in club gear not singing and acting like we were a problem.

Then I didn't go for a decade or so, I worked Saturdays and couldn't get to Leicester.

I came back and it was so different. NOBODY was singing. The walk to the ground feels surreal now, it's actually silent a lot of the time. I feel like if I started singing one of the old songs I'd be on my own and looked at like a lunatic.

Don't get me wrong I don't miss the fights and the aggro, or being at risk of trampling by a police horse but trading songs with the away fans and the general culture of it was a massive part of what made me fall in love with the game and it's just gone.

Pep Guardiola's reputation has gone down the toilet in a matter of days. It has been proven that he can only win through match-fixing (Barcelona), being in a one-team league with advantages geared towards them (Bayern Munich) and financial doping (Manchester City). Without those things, Guardiola is actually a dogshit manager.

Give Neil Warnock that Barcelona and Man City team pep had and hes winning just as much.
