I am so, so disappointed. Not entirely surprised, but dreadfully disappointed. A win would have put us up towards the playoff places, would have been 3 wins in a row for god knows how long, and would have shown a team starting to ‘click’ under a manager who has finally worked out how to adapt his tactics to his team.

But no. Instead we get this.

I didn’t see the match but have read through the takes on here and it seems that he’s just reverted to type again… is that fair, or am I missing something… ?

Back to square one again, I thought maybe we had improved… it looked like we had with a faster quicker play, but nope first half was terrible, then we are chasing the game, and still not really threatening it was comfortable for Luton in large parts.. the ref was shit though… first time in a while I was truly upset with a defeat, because honestly I thought we were going to push on, but nope

What a disappointing way to end what had been a relatively positive week, two positive results and performances and then back to earth with a bump. Yes the ref was utter toss but we were worse.

Slow and predicatable in our play, surprise surprise, we persisted with over playing and resorting to the slow turgid build up play that has blighted us for the last 3 seasons, and let’s be honest despite chasing the game for the best part of an hour, we barely laid siege to there goal, instead we continued to over play and over complicate everything, lots of like for like substitutes without really giving the opposition anything  different to contend with or think about.

Another 3 points and absolutely winnable game thrown away with lamentable tactics and in game management.

You don’t have to be anything special to beat us just a high press and close us down quickly. We are so slow and awkward at the back we will make the mistakes for teams to score!

Exactly that Bromley got whacked cos their press was dreadful. Only Stockport of our victories you could say we actually beat the high press with good football

Yet again, a sliding door moment has gone against us. A win today and it would have really felt like we were on a roll. Losing puts us right back to square 1, especially given the gut wrenching way in which we lost.

Can only assume that Bristric and Kangasneimi were not Martin approved signings, given they're not being used at all. Kanga can't even get on when one of the CBs is subbed off!

Chaplin and Burns are the new Reid and Ayew. Both utterly abysmal players offering nothing. And we're stuck with them both for 3 years, I think.

Feel totally despondent about things tbh.

Getting done by a below average Luton in League One and fans and pundits are saying it’s a bit disappointing.

The standards are so ****ing low.

Man who finished low mid table last time he was in this league looks set to lead a team to a low mid table finish…. Who’d have thunk it.

But... but... but.... he managed Rangers for 6 weeks and got Southampton promoted via the playoffs (which is mostly a lottery, anyway) having finished 6th, (I think)

Just the man for us.

Why would there be? Fans directed their anger towards the pitch rather than the executive box despite 90% of the squad being new signings and academy products. The majority of them probably can't stand us.

How else are we meant to express our frustration. The players are our only conduit to the exec's. The problem is the board might hear us, but they don't listen.

If people had directed half as much abuse towards Aiyawatt when things started unravelling as they have Martin, the useless **** would have sold up ages ago. Don't think I've heard one negative chant towards him, it's pathetic.

I don't think he's there that often to be able to hear the hate. And if he is, it's mostly deflected by, and towards Rudkin.

Has anyone else got themselves more angry because of the “extra positivity”?

Definitely one step forward, two back.

Yeah I was starting to see positivity, then all of a sudden another dull performance.. it’s just so frustrating really… certainly 2 steps backward

Luton had us under the cosh for the first 20 minutes or so, then we finally found into the game.

Okoli in the first half was Thomas vs Doncaster revisited. Pants. Deservedly subbed. The amount of possession he gave away was mind-boggling. Second-best in pretty much every regard.

From where I was sitting, I couldn't tell whether our "first" goal was actually offside.

And I thought Lundstram hit the ball, and not the opposing player.

That we managed to make it 1-1 with one man down resembled a miracle, that goal came out of nowhere.

And just when you thought, well, I'll take a point – we screw it up at it end.

Shit day at the office.

Three points against Wigan now a must.
