In no means blaming the ref because the players were honking, but he bottled it with the goal (it was offside, but bowed under pressure), missed the high boot on Smallbone and then got the Lundstram decision wrong. 

 

The players don't help themselves with their turgid approach and performance. They don't seem to have the urge or energy. 

 

I was hoping there'd be at least some semblance of connection with these players after some of the deadweight. But it's all the same shit isn't it.

The ref was shit in general, but I don't think him and the linesman discussing a player touching the ball which the linesman clearly missed is a bad thing

Another day do think we win that, think a couple of bits-

1- Have to find another way to break through the midfield if Page gets double wrapped

2- Ref was legitimately as bad as I’ve ever seen, personal highlight his two interceptions and his ruling that kicking Smallbone in the head isn’t a foul?

3- Burns is crap

4- Okoli is crap

5- Have to find another way to be threatening than just relying on Alves and Braybrooke, it’s not fair on them

Refs obviously played a part, decisions so limp that you could have picked one of the home fans to ref and probably would have arrived at a fairer game, but that all comes down to Russell ****ing Martin again. Can't set a defence up, insists on a play style that exposes the weaknesses in the defence. Insists on picking a bench with as few options to change the style as possible, because you don't change the style, if it's not working just do it better. It'll never be done better because it's fundamentally flawed. Get him sacked and end this stupid failed experiment.
