Just Finished Mayflies by Andrew O'Hagan. What a book. Shed a tear. Great author.

Read this earlier this year too, really great book. Loved the very two clear distinct parts to the book.

You might like, Close to Home by Michael Magee. It felt a similar kind of read to me.

Currently reading Caledonian Road by O'Hagen (just out in paperback). Absolutely superb.

Seven deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle.    Mind bending murder mystery with a twist from a multiple perspective.  Difficult to explain more without spoiling it!

halfway through the final book ( of those written so far) of a song of ice and fire, and wow, the tv show is utter bullshit

It's nothing to do with it by the end and you know the final book is never going to happen.

In other news, reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Written in the 1930s, it's a scarily accurate vision of the future.

A must read book, Brave new world is near the mark in its future idea. George Orwell was hugely influenced before penning 1984.

Currently reading Tokyo Express by Seichō Matsumoto which has been a short but enjoyable read. Got the Muslim Cowboy after but might save it for my holiday in a few weeks

This is a great read, very well written.  It is easy to forget now how central to both the national psyche and our island history the navy once was.  And also how we were pretty much a third rate weakling on the seas for most of that time!

This is for you! Half way through in one day, though it's one of those books you can easily read in small installments.

Bought myself a Kindle recently, I’m assuming the book subscription service they have for it is worth taking out?

If you havent heard... BorrowBox is an app linked to your local library. Highly recomend it. I always check BB before buying/renting.
