Milan Mandaric has targeted leicester!

Mort, I have a horrible feeling that if this doesn't go through, the fall out from the fans won't be as we'd like it to be. There are a majority of our fans that will only know what's published in the papers and on the news and probably haven't heard the finer details of what's been going on. They probably aren't aware our board are a bunch of numpties and they probably think they're doing a good job 'because they are real Lestoh folk'. If this does fall through, there will be a small section of fans that must make it their perogative to raise awareness as to what's really gone on.

Let's hope it goes through because my fear is that the really pissed off fans will be a minority and i'll struggle to continue to watch a team with fans that I can't agree with their morals.

I dont think all the fans will be as a aware as most of the folks on here, but i still think the mood will become very "anti" should the deal fall through... though i agree that I just dont see it being sufficent to push the idiots running our club out, so i think we agree.

Either way we can only hope that if key talks went on last night that this thing gets sorted and by that i mean MM takes over and quickly, oddly i'm not sure that folks like Taylor or even Davis have been the problem here I get the sense opposition is comming from amoungst the shareholders and other board members (which is probably worse than having an incompetant board).

I never thought i'd say this, but if the deal does fall through. Our biggest hope will be Bill Anderson. He certainly won't let this club get away with the deal falling through. Although the man's a bit of a penis, he's had my way of thinking during this whole saga and i'm sure he won't be up the club's 'arris any longer.

I've always felt MM is not backwards in coming forwards as far as "the media" is concerned, whether that be print or TV. Notwithstanding due diligence which precludes MM from making comment on the process, the lack of any Serbian protestations makes me think that the deal is still on track.

If you see MM on the telly(before any announcement of the deal going through) .......panic, wave goodbye to our better players and prepare for 10 years of watching crap football.

Its quite motionless at the football club regarding any news (apart from selling xmas stuff and telling people that the markets off because its cold).

NO NEWS is always good news in my book.

Could you let me know what exactly has gone on then Ric? As far as i'm aware nobody actually knows what has gone on. Sure there have been rumours of shareholders trying to put a spanner in the works, but that's all they are rumours.

Just playing devils advocate here.

That's exactly it though Babylon. Most fans won't ever know what's going or gone on so they'll think nothing is wrong. Our board will NEVER come out and hold their hands up and accept the blame if this deal goes tits up. My problem I have is that, even if our board aren't to blame if it does fall through, we'll still have to put up with them in charge and I can't stomach that. I appreciate what they've done for us, but they've been very amatuerish over the past couple of seasons and they are also quite sneaky in what they do. I want them out and if they are to blame for de-railing Mandaric's take-over and the truth doesn't come out in to the public domain, then it will really anger me.

My fears are that this board are a liability and most either don't know it or aren't prepared to believe it, possibly due to them believing they are ALL Leicester fans. Either way, I have made my mind up and I can't continue to back them if this deal doesn't go through. I think i'll be in the minority though, which pisses me off as it's fairly clear they are useless.

I like the way this has gone unanswered. EDIT: As I'm typing, Ric answers. Oh well, so much for slow typing.

It seems nobody knows what is going on, but are so desperate for better times at the club that they are willing to forgo knowing the truth. Now I don't know what it is, nor does anybody else (bar maybe one or two who have select information).

I have heard two stories so far:

1) My understanding at the moment (which may be wrong) is that Milan has offered the shareholders a fraction of the value of their shares upfront with the remainder due a year or two later. If I was a shareholder and somebody only paid for part of my shareholding upfront, I would still want a say in the running of the club until my shares had been bought fully. Either that or loan the money and buy my shares outright.

From how it appears, I don't think any shareholder is unwilling to sellup and let Milan try his luck at returning better times to the club

2) Milan, in his due dilligance has uncovered extra debts that were hidden in the accounts and so he is reassessing his options and valuations. Both parties (Milan and the board) have said this is not enough to derail any potential deal, so discussions are ongoing with the hopes of a quick deal fading and the opening of the transfer window nearing.

It seems that the deal is still on, it's just taking time with the real negotiations over price starting.

Now these are the bits and pieces I have heard. Don't know which is or how true they are, but from the way people are posting on here and apportioning blame, it seems others no far more than I do. So I would be interested to know what is actually happening.

City must not become the football equivalent of Farepak by not delivering the Christmas present the fans want - the new owner who can take the club forward.

People may not like his obvious bias, but the boy Anderson has a nice turn of phrase at times...and in my opinion is bang on the money.

For all those who think manderic is getting city on the cheap bear the following in mind.

1 - The club needs investment in the tune of millions to get promotion, even then its not garuanteed.

2 - The club as far as on the field is concerned is in a worse state then when the current batch of shareholders took control.

3 - The club is a liability in business terms it will lose millions this year and every year without either a upturn in turnover (premiership) or cash injections (manderic).

4 - A change of manager may be needed again requiring investment.

So if manderic were to take control in addition to paying the shareholders he needs to cover the losses from the operating of the football club, provide cash for transfers and wages, and possibly fund a manager change.

If promotion wasnt achieved please tell me how a conclusion is made that the club is worth the same now as it was when we were 2nd in the championship heading for automatic promotion?

If and only if we get promotion the club is worth more money and on that basis manderic is 100% in the right that he shouldnt pay in full until promotion has been achieved AND we are consolidated.

I've been saying exactly the same as regard to how much this club is worth at present. Can't be as much as when they took over.

Why? Explain.

It's not as if we'll go bust if the the deal doesn't happen.

And our board may be guilty of many things, but fraud isn't one of them.

You may as well give up hope now.. lol

Christ. They've uncovered Ian Marshall's tab at the player's bar. Six pints of mild every half-time soon mounts up...

Oh great.

Blame the Marshall.

You KNOW this is society's ill! We ALL must shoulder the blame.

I understand peoples anger towards the board, but as we dont yet know what if anything wrong they have done I feelwe must give them the benifit of the doubt for now. Thats not to say we dont let them have both barrels when facts finally surface which show that they let the deal fall through because of their own agenda.

However as yet we cant forget that they may be acting in the best intrest of the club. People have mentioned the ground share, most suporters were against the deal, yet if Mandric is proposing that the it would be reasonable to think the board are opposing that or at least using it to leaver more from MM.

The talk of investment from MM has all been in the form of loans, fine but against who are they secured against, MM or LCFC? MM supplies money secured against us, things dont work out and we dont get promoted, he could cut and run only a few £s down, but we are then left to service the debt from the loans. The board could be acting in our interest if they were to say that the proportion of loans secured against us is to high.

All the above is just speculation, but as we know NO facts as yet then I think its a bit harsh to blame the board.........at the moment.

I just want it all to end so we can either start to party, or gather the lynch mob.

Couldn't agree more ! I was amazed that there was not more vocal expression about MM and the lack of a deal so far, by the fans at the match on Saturday. There was one "Mill-ann Manda-rich" (to the Pet Shop Boys tune) and one "Milan, start the wave" (he wasn't even there !) and that was it. I though every supporter would be expressing a view on Saturday !

What do you suggest? The majority of fans in the Kop won't sing Blue Army & now they are expected to sing For Milan. I have tried reynard they are just miserable feckers who want to sit down and be quiet like proper fans! Oh how Liverpool and West Ham must wish they had fans like Leicester's.

That's fair enough, not wanting them in power I mean. Just the way lots on here speak is that the board are to blame for any deal going wrong and that's it end of story. When obviously we just don't know that. Especially when there are more parties involved in this than just them (MM, sharholders and also Teachers).

Speaking of Teachers see Talkingballs for the rumour about them. Which in my eyes is quite a feasible reason for what is happening. Especially when MM's people said "Financial AND legal things need looking at".

The delay might well be because Teachers are trying to get their money back, in which case MM will be trying to raise a new loan in his (or his company's) name to pay off the old one.

Give up, go make a cup of tea and watch something not very challenging on tele ~ I fear that if I smacked you in the face with a kipper you simply wouldn't smell the fish.

Having said that, I'm more than happy to smack you in the face with a kipper if you wish to try and prove me wrong.
