A select few cinemas are showing Oppenheimer in 35mm print. One of my mates fancies going for this. For the film geeks, is it worth gambling over the potential experience of a digital format?

Abso****inglutely. This is Christopher Nolan we're talking about, one of the few directors working today who insist on shooting on film, who still does VFX the old (best) way. If you can stretch to it, find an IMAX screen near you.

Nefarious

About a convicted killer getting a psychiatric evaluation the day of his scheduled execution.  During the evaluation, he tells the doctor that he is actually a demon.

Very engaging and entertaining.

Finally got round to watching Asteroid City. I really enjoyed it; my wife less so.

As a previous poster said, it's left a little open to interpretation; but very interesting and perhaps even quite thought-provoking if you can look past the quirkiness and typical Anderson imagery.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things

We got to the end and it prompted a discussion about physics and meta physics with the girl, bringing up references to Interstellar and The Shining. For that reason alone I’m rating it. I’ll be watching it a second time.

Over 3 hrs for a biopic is not what would have me rushing to the cinema, regardless of the director.

Well it’s an utter remarkable story. Superb cinema this morning

If it’s great, you won’t realize the run time.

My mate went to see it yesterday. Said it was far too long and was looking at his watch 45 mins in. Thought the film was underwhelming and had too many names and faces to keep track of.

Actually thought it romped quickly until the last forty minutes.

You’d struggle to get the main parts of the blokes life rapped up in 2 hours

Christopher Nolan would be the perfect director for the next James Bond reboot. Trilogy of Bond films under him would be unique.

Well, it would start that way.

The first movie would be an awesome, realistic, unexplored origin story.

The second would be an overblown, but still great look at a battle against an iconic villain.

The third would be so ridiculous, and feature so many plot holes that you would swear it had to be written/directed by someone else.

Lol he's a big film buff, and had over 3000 DVDs in his collection back in the day. And I don't think he's ever watched a TikTok in his life!

I think like a lot of middle aged people (he's the same age as me 45) we just don't get too excited nowadays by stuff and find most of it "meh". Grumpy old men I reckon lol

Can't remember the last time we've had so many big films out around the same time.

Oppenheimer, Barbie, Mission Impossible, Indiana Jones, Transformers, Elemental

Great for cinema and as much as I love the Marvel films, it's quite refreshing to see other blockbusters stepping up to the plate
