Finally got round to watching John Wick 4....not going to spoil but this is an interesting video.

Never thought about it until someone mentioned the ending to Cowboy Bebop, which Keanu was such a fan he wanted to play Spike in a live action version, so with this, maybe he kinda got his wish :)

I've seen the first three more than once and I couldn't tell you much about the plot in 2 and 3. I watched this one recently and I couldn't tell you anything about the plot lol It's amazing how grounded the first film feels in comparison to this one, which sounds silly to say.

I don't care that the plot has become ridiculous, but my one gripe with the sequels is that John Wick has almost no bearing on the plot other than shooting hundreds of people, with the other characters hogging almost all of the dialogue.

That birds eye shot at the end was worth the price of admission alone though, simply breathtaking.

John Wick 4 is way too long and basically just copies the plots of all the other films. You could almost cut the other 3 films up, re-record the dialogue and make exactly the same film.

Yeah, there's a lot of scenes with meaningless dialogue that would only be interesting in a film where the plot is actually interesting/makes sense. It's style over substance to the nth degree (compared to the first film which had a strong emotional element) but the style goes a long way at least.

Enjoyed Extraction II on Netflix, thought it was equal to the first, or better!

Might have to try it, looked like a typical Netflix shit movie at first glance

The fight to get to the church  was some of the best stunt work I've seen for a long time,  you kind of know what you're getting with these movies but the cinematography and choreography are 10/10.

I'm still dealing with the heartache this movie gave me. Who said animation was just for kids?

Remember that they originally released this alongside Totoro as a double bill, two knock out anime movies.

Shame Ghibli has pretty much died a death but there are always new kids on the block, three of my fave anime movies other than Ghibli were Wolf Children, A silent voice and Your Name

Finally watch Air - about Nike signing Michael Jordan to a contract and essentially saving the company.

I honestly wasn’t interested in the subject, but finally sat down to watch it - thought it was phenomenal!

Was national indigenous peoples day here in Canada yesterday.

Took the time to watch this and it is heart breaking, horrendous and makes you so angry at what cvnts these criminals were to the community. It is well documented in news over the last decade or so with more and more stories coming out. Not sure if you can watch it but ffs.

Rewatched Four Lions the other night as my girlfriend's never seen it. Forgot how brilliant it is. I don't find many comedy films all that funny but this has me howling. Some great quotables

I saw Asteroid City today. It is an interesting piece by Wes Anderson which I believe is meant for the audience to decide what they interpret. Which is a nod to the main actor in the play within the film not getting it. However it made me think of other Wes Anderson films and randomly think how much I loved The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Tomorrow is Indy 5. Can’t wait!

Well Indiana Jones is back for the final time... unless Harrison is convinced to crack his whip in his 90's. To be honest I'd be very surprised if this is the last time if this is actually the last time we see the character give it ten years they'll either be a reboot or a tv series with different actor in the lead, wherever we like it or not.

However this defo the last time we see Harrison in the trademark Indy hat. The movie itself sounded mad even before seeing it, the idea of time travel in a indiana jones just sounds laughable and mah, to me it's shouts to me Disney have got these rights and no clue what to do with, they knew Indy was worth a lot to miss out on not returning to big screen but problem was they had basically no ideas of story and an lead actor already approaching 80. In the end I think they just chucked whatever extreme ideas they had and went for it. Without giving too much away Indy is now living down town in New York in the year 1969, while the world is celebrating the moon landing Indy is coming to terms of old age and retirement. Just as Indy thinks he's going to be spending the rest of his days alone with nowt to do in his apartment. He suddenly finds himself forced back into action over an artefact he found during the second world war, which is now wanted by a number of interested parties, one namely a group of ex Nazi group believing the piece can be used to take you back in time.

To be honest a daft as it sounds, the film is a lot of fun certainly a good summer flick with a great cinema character. Don't expect a Raiders or Last Crusade maybe not even Temple... but an improvement on Crystal Skull. The film is a messy at times and poorly written but somehow there's still some good action scenes to keep you entertained.

two tickets £40! what a scandal
