Abbas did a job, kept it tight and helped build up some pressure unlike the previous overseas, not his day in terms of wicket taking though.

Big batting day, already 3 down if somehow we can score 300 it’ll be 3 batting points and a tidy lead.

140-6 need someone to stick with Dexter, do not want to be  behind on 1st innings. Not sure what has happened to Hill given a new contract and cannot by any runs now. Anybody got an idea where Carberry is was he not given a 3 year deal

Understand Carberry considering  legal action against the club signed a 2 year contract to be captain with a clause that he would take a pay cut if he lost the captaincy.Carbs however feels that he lost the captaincy unfairly.

There's a long way to go, but it sounds like we have dug in well and have now got a solid platform with 2 set batsmen in. Hopefully we can kick on.

We're so far behind so many of the other first class counties it's ridiculous. There's a long way to go before we're able to fend off approaches like that.

Not sure what the going rate for a county cricketer is these days but 80k seems high for someone of his experience, I'd expect that would make him one of the top earners at LCCC. Massive difference in resources.

Richard Ray has said Chappel has been offered 80k by Warwickshire ? how can we ever rebuild when the big clubs can cherry pick our young players?
