Chappell approached by Notts, offered £80k, we have countered but not anywhere near that figure. Another one gone then.

We can't win really. We went down the Kolpak route and were slaughtered, then we changed to produce our own and they're all leaving (usually to Notts).

Although I get frustrated by the lack of a promotion challenge and usually finishing bottom and sometimes winless, I do have sympathy with the club.

How many good performances has Chappell had and you have counties throwing that money at him? Can’t win, this is the beast the ECB have created.

Smaller counties foster the youngsters but the bigger counties get rewarded when they play for England on central contracts. Yet they’ve done no development with that bigger county.

They're  getting away here. If we need to chase 200 plus we'll lose.

What do I know?!lol Great win, well done, Foxes! 2 successive CC wins and up to 2nd in the table! In fact we'd be top had we not lost after enforcing the follow on v Durham! When was the last time we won more than once in a season?

Your wrong with  your last point the clubs that produce England players from the academy get the lions share of the ECB money

The problem is we produce so few players from our academy only Chappell and Hill played in the Northants game. Most of the players we lost Cobb Buck Greg Smith were not good enough

We do but we don’t get the advantage that the major counties get which is an England centrally contracted player gets his wages pretty much covered. Therefore they can afford larger squads and to spend the likes of £80k on players from other counties

Yep your right about the wages being covered but most of the England players play so rarely having said that expect Malan to play against us next week when we play Middlesex

Have to be honest and say I didn’t think we would score those runs, but delighted that we did. So pleased for Nico who deserves time in this post. It will be interesting to see who we might attract this winter too.

It it would be great if a few more sport loving Leicester folk spent a day or two at Grace Road this summer. It’s a super friendly club.

Great start to see the season, could have been even top had we not has the disastrous session against Durham.

Let's see if we can carry it on, it's a great chance to go up if we can hold it together.

Absolutely cracking win and real signs of pushing on, had wondered about Hill but he can now say he has played a match winning innings for the Foxes. recently we have struggled on the 3rd day and Northans went into the day on top. To take their last 7 wickets in a session and to chase down a decent target after being 0-1 has got to be good

Moores scored his first century for Notts today. Another who sadly left us for them.

Don't mean to rub salt in the wounds, but Moores looks a seriously good young player. Destructive batsman in both Championship and one day cricket and an excellent gloveman. Some of the catches he's taken this season have been sensational.
