Great day. Brother flew in from England this afternoon. Picked him up and had a quick stop by mine so he could see my wife and kids. Then  drove him down to dads place where one of my younger brothers was waiting for us. Got to hold my baby neice and see dad.  My dad is not doing too well and am not sure how much longer he will be around. Happy my older brother got to fly in and see him.  

 

The youngest brother is driving down from about 4 hours northwest of Toronto on friday so us 4 brothers will be reunited for the first time in over 3.5 years.  I mean, i see my younger brothers regularly just not my older one who lives in England.

 

We know this will be the last time all four brothers will be together with him so just going to enjoy the time.

 

Hug your parents. I am in my early 40s and my mums been gone for 11 years and dad won't be around for much longer.

Only gone and won the pub quiz tonight!

 

Me and the Mrs go pretty much every Monday, this is our second victory in about 3 years.

 

We've been threatening in the last few weeks, consistently in the top 3.

 

The other teams, made up of 5/6 people that would piss Only Connect, gave us some scathing looks!

 

The prize is only a bottle of red wine, but it's going to taste so good 

 

I bloody love a good pub quiz. I'm full of useless knowledge, but the questions fell right tonight. The mrs is just there for medical and literature questions. 

 

Dovetailed beautifully. 

 

Reminded me of the time me and @Milo took down @Izzy and his club captain at golf.

Theres a deep freeze over here. Right now its -17 feels like -25.  It isn't warming up and will only get colder as the day goes. By Saturday 2am it will be -23 feels like -28.

 

Where my brother lives 4 hours away its  currently -31 feels like -40.

 

By tuesday will be +6 so think i will get the shorts  out that day

Christ that's cold  Since we've moved it doesn't ever get below about 8 Celsius overnight, even in the winter. The coldest daytime temperature is about 16, anything below 20 feels cold now

Yes, it is cold. Picked the kids up from school and was outside for about 12 minutes. My fingers and toes were frozen (as well as other extremities. Not to worry they are all unthawed and in working condition lol). Had winter gloves/jacket/tuque/boots/face mask on but you could just feel the cold in your soul lol.

 

I am 100% jealous of your temperatures. 

 

From 35+ to below -20, we really get it all over here. Suppose that makes us highly adaptable?

Born and bred in Oadby, but been out of Leicester for about 10 years now.

 

I lived in Luton the year we won the league, so the further south I go, the better we are.

Irritating that they used a picture of the Beach Boys from ****ing 1962, The Stones from around 2012 and Blondie circa 78-79. Not hard to find images of them coinciding with the 'hit'. 

 

Only one I wasn't sure about was No.15 which I suspect is the Commodores - but I don't recall them having any memorable UK hits beyond 'Three Times a Lady' which was 1979.

Had a haircut today, first one in probably about 2 months.

 

Usually I'll trim my beard, or even shave it all off. Not today.

 

Mrs is fuming, she asked why I've got still got unruly straggly pubes coming out of my face.

 

My reply: "It's my FA Cup beard. I don't shave until Leicester get knocked out, this is only the third year I've done this, you know happened the first time, don't you?"

 

Her: "No. Oh, actually, was that when you won that big game or something?"
