Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 Personally it's a big ask for me and if we DO get into the playoffs then other teams are going to have to falter badly. Sure, some teams will do exactly that, but will enough of them? Will the owners be patient with Pearson? In fact, if we can get into the playoffs this season, then Pearson will have to be up there with O'Neill and Gillies. I'm guess most of you will be as dispondent as me.
Tielemans63 Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 Before today I'd have said yes - no I'd say no.
beemeroo Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 They called us the Man City of the Championship. Well, we certainly went out of our way to prove them wrong!
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 Bring on the knee jerk reactions! Last week you all had your rose tinted glasses on
PegguyArphexad Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 I'm not as despondent at all! Today was unfortunate. But, I think there has been enough positive signs in the last few weeks to see we are moving in the right direction... Too late this season? Maybe, but I won't be throwing in my supporting towel until its mathematically not possible. Still plenty of points to play for!
StanSP Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 It's not over til it's mathematically impossible. It's just getting more unlikely after each match!
FrankieADZ Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 tbh....I knew we'd some how balls it up...dunno why....we seem to be cursed or something; Cant see the owners getting rid of Pearson...wouldnt make sense too..really cant see us getting anywhere near the play offs this season. as we seem to be cursed with crap ref's too all the time.
FuriousFox46 Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 Yeah, I'm not expecting us to breach the top 6 now. We have the nucleus for a title charge next year. Let's just take each game as it comes and get behind the lads! :scarf:
purpleronnie Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 It is over although my original prediction of 8th is looking in doubt. And people called me pessimistic. I still don't understand why people thought we'd win the league, look at our team its not exactly miles ahead of a lot of others. Playoffs were a possibility because we have such an open league. The gaps too much it would take a miracle run for us to get to the playoffs and I cant see where that would come from.
paddy Agyemang Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 OVER end of. How do we claw back 8 pts and then stay in form to stop them taking over
Libertine Dream Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 Next season will be ours, we're building ourselves well for next year under NP
Happy Fox Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 This season was over the minute we sacked Sven not saying that he should of been given anymore time, but it was always going to be difficult for NP to turn this season around, next season will be our year
Gold Coast Fox Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 I'm already looking for cheap flights home so im going to say the season is over. No doubt we will go up next season when im not around to see it
Jace Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 Cannot wait for Pre Season the only decent time of year to be a Leicester City fan
Yojoe36 Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 I don't want to say it's over, but I'm not an optimist. The amount of teams that are still in it really negates our chances.
Magictv Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 Until we're more than 3 points off the playoffs for each game remaining it's not over. Realistically, we're very unlikely to do it but it could happen.
Legend_in_blue Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 The referee's have done us. I said in an earlier post this week in reaction to the mid-week game, I now expect a refereeing decision to have a major effect on the outcome of each and every game we play. Today is another prime example of that. There have been far too many of these this season for it to be purely put down to the "swings and roundabouts" of refereeing decisions played out over the course of a season.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 As I said earlier this JUST is not City's season. Whatever could go wrong has gone wrong... Beckford now out for three The Fonz injured Looks like its time to plan for the next term Reason being? Frankly we just arent good enough and have not been good enough right since the start of the season. Some of our players, excuses aside, are not good enough to get promotion. Its not about effort, or tactics IMO.. we simply have some pretty average players. On a positive note, Drinkwater sounds like he may be a shining light for the future.
Captain... Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 The season is not over there are still 17 games left and the FA Cup, if you mean will we sneak in to the playoffs and scrape through in the final, then yeah, that has been over for a while, still mathematically possible but too many clubs between us and 6th and we are not playing well enough, suspensions and injuries are not going to help. There are still 17 games to prepare for next season, to get a winning mentality and get the team playing well together, to build on some good performances and get rid of the deadwood. NP needs to decide on who is going to get us up next season and who isn't good enough and start picking the teams with that in mind. Marshall, Drinkwater, need to be starting, maybe Morgan too. This is the start of next season cos apart from the FA cup this one is not going to be successful.
Guest parky0607 Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 For me, it's getting to that point in the season where your realistical thoughts begin to overtake your hope, we need to win at least 5 MORE games than the teams above us, and once we do that, we must remain a winning team. Sorry, but I would like to cash in my seat on the optimistic bus, in order to catch the despair and misery train. And Blackpool, their fans which surround me and gloat and their constant match winning 90th minute goals can **** RIGHT OFF
Guesty Posted 4 February 2012 Posted 4 February 2012 It's too early to say it's over. If we were to win are next 3 games we could be right up there. This league is to hard to predict whats going to happen.
