Big Dave Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 forest where there for the taking, but as normal city showed no real treat and willingness to win. Remember - we only had 1 proper central mid today! Forest parked the team bus in front of goal - will always be difficult.
Jace Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Just typical we smash them 4-0 at home in the Cup why can't the goals just work out more evenly? just an extra goal in each home and away league game would of been 6 points instead of 2 so frustrating how results have panned out this season
Bryn Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 I thought there was plenty of endeavour from us tonight and some quality too, it's so hard to play against a team that defensive.
AdamN Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Hardly a disaster. Forest played for the draw, and it's always gonna be difficult to break down a team that sets up the way they did tonight. Another point gained - 4 points off the playoffs - let's enjoy the rest of the season you miserable bastards!
Captain... Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 We had to play Bamba in midfeld and they parked the bus, is it any surprise we couldn't create much, I'm not blaming Bamba, I think he did well, but we lacked the creativity of Danns or Wellens, atmosphere sounded great in the first half, but unsurprisingly the the fans waned as the performance did. I feel sorry for all those that paid money and gave their time to watch a non event of football, for which I blame Forest and the ref, more than Leicester.
m00nie Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 forest may have sat back but we did no where near enough.. guess people will still have us to finsih 5th..
leicesterisme Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 6 if Birmingham beat Doncaster on Friday, game in hand would put them above Middlebrough. Their game in hand is away at Burnley if I'm not wrong? That wont be easy. (They'll probably smash Burnley 6-0 now)
cosmos Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Schlupp was just wandering around in a disinterested fashion when he came on but I didn't think we were too bad on the whole
Christoph Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 So was Bamba a revelation in midfield? He suprised me compared to the last time he was in midfield or right back. Looked really strong and I reckon as a CDM to let two other midfielders roam while he hovers outside the box and the edge, we could really take advantage of him. He was winning some good headers in the middle of the park.
shade Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Bamba was good, a bit deep like but he was obviously told to sit there. I blame forest for our lack of penetration more than our players, closing down quick, marking tight and sitting back, although we didn't help ourselves with some shiitstain final balls.
leicesterisme Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Schlupp was just wandering around in a disinterested fashion when he came on but I didn't think we were too bad on the whole Or just the fact that he hardly recieved the ball, can't really influence a game if you're not given the service.

I thought Bamba tried to be more creative than Drinkwater. He tried to make telling forward passes and some runs here and there. In such games as these, the offensive quality of the fullbacks often make the difference and I don't think Konch or Peltier did enough in the final third.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Blaming the victory chant tonight killed the atmosphere it sounds ropey as fook and no one wanted to chant it purely because It sounded woeful, not every chant on YouTube is a good one. Before I get shot down in flames I am a fan of we love you an the Marshall chant because they're loud and build up atmosphere in a good way just seemed to me like this victory chant sounds boring quite frankly.
The Padster Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 6 if Birmingham beat Doncaster on Friday, game in hand would put them above Middlebrough. Ifs and buts, I realise we're probably not going to make it but I ain't saying season over until we actually can't make it.
whoareyaaa Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Again we have failed to take our chance although some good performances from Drinkwater finding neat balls through gaps and Bamba looking solid apart from a couple of dreadful passes which could have cost us. Luckily teams around us have managed to fvck it up as well.
Tielemans63 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Feel a bit flat after that. It was a flat performance and a flat atmosphere in the stadium, to me it didn't feel like a local derby - not sure what others think? Forest's negative approach didn't help but we never looked like breaking them down - if anything they had the best chances in the second half. I thought Bamba played very well in CM, it was Drinkwater who didn't offer us anything. I thought we'd miss Danns pre-match and we definitely did.
muzzy1981 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Positives Completely dominated possession Good defensive performance again Morgan and SSL rocks again Tidy passing for 70 mins Negatives Missed Danns energy and determination Beckfords touch was poor Nugent didn't do a lot Look less likely to score when Howard (Long ball Larry doesn't =goal) Drinkwater doesn't play as well with Bamba Confirmed we need a striker who can hold the ball up well, Emile would do.
RowlattsFox Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Simply didn't create enough. Beckford was poor when he did get the ball, pisses me off when he shoots first time when he has absolutely no chance of scoring. Dyer was ok but couldn't get past his man enough and then went too narrow. Marshall was biggest threat but then he started to try to do too much and the final ball in the box was poor Other than a nervy start the defence did ok, Bamba did the best he could. We needed someone better than Howard to throw on, and that says it all. Season of ifs and buts.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Once again we play at the level that the shit opposition set. Was completely dire second half. Drinwater i thought was poor tonight, certainly didn't cross the ball well. If we had scored early on like we should have done we would have got two or three. Very poor and frustrating. A win would have been very good going into the Posh game.
Salieri Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Of course it isn't season over but it is a big opportunity missed and a pretty abject display. Forest did come to defend but we did very little in the way of trying to open them up, our lightweight midfield obviously hindered us, Danns was and will be a big loss. Depressing stuff tonight and I feel sorry for those who went.
JadeFalcon Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 1 win and a draw off the play-offs and people are saying season over ??? come on you seriously need your ****ing heads looking at we played very well imho we just couldnt break them down as everytime we got the ball almost every forest player charged back towards their own box
